You CAN buy a firearm in the US and import it, but the time and hassle to complete the process is rarely worth it.

You have to show your license in which the ffl then validates with CFO.
CFO then runs the firearm through the FRT.
You then purchase the firearm
The FFL then has to submit the transfer to CFO.
Once approved the FFL ships the firearm to the US border.
You then have to file all kinds of import paperwork.
USBS then transfers the firearm to CBS.
CBS calls you to say your firearm is ready to receive.
Show up to border, pay taxes and duties.
Obtain an ATT (yes still at the border)
Then receive it from CBS and bring it home.

Last time I was at the Buffalo gun center the guy at the counter told me their last US to CDN transfer took almost 6 months from start to finish of the process.

Funny fact but the firearms registry lives on. Even though the law stated that the police would destroy all records of not restricted long guns most if not all federal provincial and municipal police just downloaded all the records to their in house databases in complete defiance of the law.
If your local police service is monitorable give it a listen when they are responding to a domestic situation they will say something like "CFRO registered?"
Sure don't lead by example do they?

Petition addressing some of the concerns people have had regarding the ban. Share it, spread it, ignore it, or do nothing at all, just thought I'd pass it on.

That's better than a previous petition posted. The previous one went off the rails towards the end.

EDIT:
It appears the other one disappeared and now links to the one you posted. The last one had a whole bunch of related issues tied up in it which just muddied the waters (eg. "implement the ability to defend your property to deter criminal acts within reasonable limits."). With that wording, there was no point signing as it did not have a chance in hell of passing and it may be used as ammunition by the Edna Krabappels of Canadian gun nuts being just like 'muricans.

You can get irunguns to do it for a nominal fee.

Just to be clear here, JT is essentially repossessing scary black guns unless they are full-auto in which case you get to keep them?

Eh? I don't believe full auto weapons are legal for civilians.

Speaking on grand fathered laws, certainly not legal to buy.

You can be grandfathered. I've met people with lots of legal full-auto weapons. One guy had purchased a surplus stock of upper receivers back when they were legal. In the process of making them illegal, RCMP registered them all so he could legally build them all up. Now transporting or using them on the other hand. . . Oy vey. He brought a selection out to an event (not at a range) and had to get a specific ATT for that event. For obvious reasons, he had no ammunition with him.

I imagine that this move was planned long ago, and has been waiting for Justin to get himself into enough hot water.

Sure enough, judging by the response on this site, the deflection has had immense success.

What makes a gov't office sacred?

s.

Again...didn't answer my question.

Is this ok by you?: People with guns outside the mall or a doctors office or the mayors office or a school or a grocery store (insert your example here..

I think it infringes on peoples feelings of safety. These are intimidation tactics. Luckily in Canada they are illegal....And in the states they should be too.

Oh and another militia behaving badly:

Frightened lefty loons gotta dig deep into americana to incriminate canadian firearms owners.

So here's the product of Justin's anti-gun hysteria. Canadian girl gets arrested for dressing in Star Wars outfit, carrying toy gun.

And the very small percentage doing straw purchases deserve a very very harsh punishment.
That would have to be a very small percentage. There aren't that many legal gun owners who are also cleared to buy and own handguns AFAIK.

They regularly report the number of total PAL holders, and number of restricted/prohib firearms registered, but I've never seen a report showing the number of PAL holders with an "R" designation attached.

To be honest I really have no idea on actual numbers and I'm not a gun owner. I do however have many many friends who are hunters and gun owners, afaik only one is licensed to own restricted.
That is the sum total of my experience and knowledge on the subject so I'll shut up now.

Now that the flood gates have opened, JT just cant contain himself. Another $70,000,000 for F35 planes we don't want, cant afford and will never get.

Australia must be so dissapointed

So what's the difference?

A guy buys a standard looking rifle and cosmetically modifies it, not changing its capacity or performance and it looks "Assault". Suddenly there's a terrorist next door.

Fred the accountant buys a Harley with loud pipes and skull paint. He pastes on removable tats, doesn't shave for a couple of days and dresses up like a pirate. Suddenly he's a menace to society. Heaven forbid he owns a pellet rifle that looks "Assault".

Is there a factor in the situation where a person's personality either changes or comes out when they fantasize by dressing up. Does having Rossi clone gear make a rider better or does it just make him think he's better? Or is it just halloween?
