just to be clear - no theft coverage if i don't have an alarm?

afaik TD (Monnex) did not require an alarm to have theft, but they offered a discount if you had one. SF never asked me if I had one.

I know for a fact TD won't provide theft insurance without an alarm installed on a new policy. Also, don't tell them you installed the alarm because they may get you with the bs "it was not professionally installed so we can't tell whether it was working or not". Even if the alarm worked, it's very easy to disable most of them anyways. I'm still baffled as to why TD does it this way.

Gorilla alarms for bikes are very affordable and super easy to install. I had one on my SV and rarely used it. Definitely not in the 400-500$ range.
