Just bonkers

I think it would be better to hold off until there's a precedent-setting decision or two in place, and to cement cheeto's legacy with an actual conviction on his record.

The risk is he drags all that out past the election, wins (God help us all), and then of course claims "presidential immunity" etc etc again, and pardons himself for all the stuff that did actually stick between now and then.

Meh, I'd gladly take "strokes out and drools on self in wheelchair on the porch of MaraLago" instead, I can do without the feel good convictions.

Maybe we can start a GoFundMe to send him a few hundred hamberders.

Nah, I think a heart attack or stroke somewhere around Aug - Sep 2024 would be optimum. This current case is going to cement that presidents don't have unlimited immunity from prosecution, and there's a couple cases going ahead in March or thereabouts, which might be delayed some, but hopefully not much.

Ok cool, as long as that's scheduled, we're good. :p

His lawyer literally says yes in the vid.
Can you post the real vid then?
He said a conditional yes, without defining the conditions, which might as well be an I'm not answering.
It's interesting that people then see what they want to.

I'd like Trump gone, because the Democrats have done nothing with him around, except try to get rid of him.
I'd also like to see the snowflake gone, as he has no business continuing, unless it's believed that his running mate would be a worse disaster.
There must be better qualified people in the U.S.

I’m starting to think Hailey might have enough traction to challenge Trump. She’s rising like a rocket in the primary polls.

Not there yet, but if the other 3 fold and endorse her she might just do it.

I listened to the question/ answer process that was radio broadcast yesterday killing some time in the afternoon. It was Perry Mason vs dumb and dumber .

In that vid at the 49 second point his lawyer says "my answer is a qualified yes"

Some comment on it from CNN:
At that point, and time and again on Tuesday, Sauer attempted to rely on an escape hatch — one that malfunctioned badly. He argued that his position was not extreme because of a purported constitutional out: the impeachment judgment clause. He argued over and over again that the Constitution did allow prosecution of an ex-president — but only after he or she had been impeached by the House and convicted by the Senate for the same conduct.

But the panel was having none of it, refusing to take that entirely novel argument seriously. A key problem with the argument is that the impeachment judgment clause says the opposite of what Sauer claims. It states that “the Party convicted [in an impeachment trial] shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.” In other words, the clause enshrines the rule that presidents can still be prosecuted even if they’re convicted of impeachment, not that presidents can be prosecuted only if they’re first convicted by the Senate.

From the debate last night: Even wacky ron thinks maybe......

DeSantis – a Harvard-educated lawyer who published a book that used the writings of the Founding Fathers to accuse the Obama administration of abusing the Constitution – also declined to say whether he agrees that a president should have immunity for any conduct in office, including assassinating a political opponent, as Trump’s lawyer asserted this week.

“I’m not exactly sure what the outer limits are,” he said. “I don’t think it’s necessarily been litigated.”
