I think this was the bike from the novice group. When they picked it upright, gas started leaking out the side of the tank... bike took a beating. Hope the rider was in better shape.

The guy was OK luckily but he had extreme pain in the area where his wallet sits. wink, wink.

Yes that's true!

Here's a quick clip of the bike I dodged (intermediate group). If the camera was pointing forward, you would have seen a spectator frantically waving his hands then the rider standing right where I was exiting, and then BOLTING over the barrier! I'm assuming the rider was ok as I haven't seen someone move so quickly!

When I picked up the bike we noted the fuel gushing from the tank so we quickly put it down of the other side to prevent a fire. Then we decided on the plan to move it off track and leave it on it's side with the bad side of the tank up for a while to cool down and made that the lunch break to maximize track time. When the bike was cleared from the track area the engine was cooled down to minimize the risk of fire.

I noticed GWB were very quick to get out and tend to the riders then quickly and safely get the bikes off track.

So true. I'm the chick that stands at the wall and takes pics...so I notice everything, they are on it like donkey kong. When the riders went down in the pm, I went to turn around and yell "rider down"...but Donald was already on it.

Just joined the forum saturday, that was me riding in the intermediate group who went down. Blue 98 gsxr600.. Just so you can be aware, i am fine with no major injuries! :)

I was out for the GWB saturday evening, intro to track. It was worth taking as a track novice, just even for the follow-the-leader for the track lines and the input for body position. It will definitely help out with the next track day.

Good to know all is well. It's never fun seeing a fellow rider have a mishap, but unfortunately these things happen.

Definitely never good seeing a fellow rider go down, but it happens. As long as the rider is ok, than that's all that matters. Be back at TMP for July 5th with the vintage guys. Should be a great day.

PS, how do you upload multiple photos in one post?..I have 2 more that it wont let me add to show my wipeout in stages.

Missed your company! Hope you're feeling better. Mid Ohio August 13 if you're interested!

Thanks, I'm definitely better now. The 5-hour drive to Mid-Ohio is a bit of a stretch for me, but that track looks incredible. If things change, I'll let you know!
