june 22 tmp, who took pictures?

i wonder if anyone here was taking pictures that day, my wife couldnt make it to the track as shes my usual photographer. i was on the green gixxer with yellow wheels, number 133 on the nose and tail.

im just uploading a video of me chasing a guy on a newer r1 fiat edition near the end of the day for a handful of laps. if anyone knows who that is tag him in here

Ha ha ha....I like the ending!

What was going through your mind at 3:28? Bike also seemed a bit squirmy at one point braking for turn 1 the final time (8:40).

Do you have a lot of experience at TMP? It takes a while to learn, but it seems like you could carry more speed into both 1 and 2. Your infield seems good though, considering what you are riding.

3:28 was a pucker my *** moment, i came in to turn 2 nice and hot closing the gap on him and he was going a lot slower than i thought he was, or at least he had scrubbed off a lot of speed for turn 3 so i had to eat a hand full of front brake to avoid hitting him, i was happy hitting turn 3 at the pace i was going and braking through it if need be but not with him parked in front of me, lol. ive done 8 or 10 days at tmp so far between this and my old bike, best i managed according to the diablo track app yesterday was a 1:20.2 around there, i was running around 1:21-1:22 chasing after him. im on a k1 thou so shes an old girl.
the final trip in to turn one was a funny one, i think what happened was the first time i passed him i may have blocked his entry in to turn one, normally ill catch people on the braking zone there as i did to him twice and ill pitch her in to turn one and power through it, but i took a bad line in and went wider than i wanted to and scrubbed off too much speed in the process, so he repaid the favor by coming nice and close to me on the exit, second time was the same thing, i could have gone faster in to it but i didnt want to from the center of the track, and the third one and final attempt if you watch where he starts to brake, hes braking well beyond his braking zone, he was braking before the end of the wall before hand and i dont get on the brakes till after the wall, and so he was starting to brake where i brake, so i ended up floating the rear to slow down just in case he pitched the bike in towards me if i tried to pass him, no need to have him side swipe me because i tried to pass. its just a track day and theres no need to trade paint, so i think he started to brake too late to keep me from passing him and went wide as a result and mowed the lawn. there were a few spots where i could have passed him in the infield but i just didnt feel comfortable in case he went wide or something, thought about it a few times though. nice little back and forth, probably the best one i had all day

i had something similar happen last year as well in the turn 2-3 transition, i ran a guy down coming in to turn two and was going to pass him on the outside going to turn three and i guess his bike popped in to neutral and he froze up and was going straight towards the grass and last second he turned right and stayed on track, problem is my front tire was at his leg and i had no where to go, i managed to turn with him and stay off the grass. ive got that on video somewhere too

yeah 6:05 was nice of him eh, i guess after that dick move i should have just stuffed him on the inside of a corner somewhere and returned the favor. oh well he ended up mowing the lawn shortly after that anyways

I just don't understand why people pass people back?? If someone passes you obviously it usually means they are faster on the infield but can't keep up with you on the straights. I usually let people pass then at least follow them in the infield for a lap. If they passed me because I was on my warmup lap and they were already warm (or had warmers) then I just pass em back and off I go.

I agree. I know it is red group and all, but if someone is taking it that seriously my objective would be to get as far away from him as possible.

Everyone wants to win the track day

Sounds like some people need to try a race weekend instead of messing around at track days.

Pulling late passes at track days isn't very polite and I'd happily return the favor followed by exiting the track to keep my distance from them unless I know them.

i try to keep my passing as clean as possible and thats why i didnt bother to pass him through the infield. that being said i love challenging myself with riders who are equal or faster than i am, i tried to keep up with phil leckie and that lasted for about 4 corner lol. i think my passes were fairly clean and i tried to leave him enough room, i watched the last part where he blew off and from where i was in relation to him i doubt he even saw me on his right, he just went too deep into the braking zone trying to keep me from passing and either froze up or went beyond his abilities.

another video from that day, last session of the day, we sat there and our tires cooled off a bit so we did a half a lap to warm up, im chasing my buddy on his red gixxer thou and another buddy on the black gixxer 750. not as much action in this one as i just chase them around but then i decide to pass them and then eventually another rider, phil shows up at some point and passes me nice and clean and i tried to follow him but that wasnt happening.

Glad I could provide a pic for you. My wife took many that day, I still have to go through them all. I'll see if there are any others.

no offense but your lines suck balls. try working on those before trying to pass people.

trying to find what works in some corners, for the most part the lines are fine and im able to run down lots of guys through the corners. also the video of me chasing the r1 i was trying to find a nice clean way of passing him through a corner without causing an incident. so i was taking a different approach at some corners. but im happy to get faster and learn from others, which corners in particular do you think i could improve on?
