July 21st TMP highside video

so i highsided my bike at TMP yesterday, it was at the end of the last session in the novice group. I'm not really sure what happened, and a couple riders that saw the crash aren't really sure either. I lost traction transitioning from turn 3 to 4, but it looks like I was almost upright when it happened. My only guess is that i may have accidentally chopped the throttle between rolling off/on. If anyone can offer some insight I'd surely appreciate some advice to help me avoid something like this again.

****** deal man, sorry to hear. Hope you didn't suffer any serious injuries or any major damage to the bike.
As far as the incident goes, I can't really comment much because my experience is limited, but the only thing I noticed is that you let off the throttle and you were almost upright, it doesn't make any sense to me either.

banana peel - Did you switched from conventional to GP shifting and end up going down a shift instead of up?

Hope you are ok

bike is regular shift, I'm almost positive i was staying in 2nd (maybe 3rd) gear through 3,4,5. so no down/up shifting.

i hope its as simple as that, i definitely wasnt planning on shifting gears lol...... but maybe just wonky foot positiioning with an accidental shift. Could accidentally chopping the throttle off and then back on cause that to happen? there were a couple times yesterday i ended up jarring my throttle hand going over bumps.

The doctor that looked at my x-rays didn't find anything, it was the radiologist that called me the following day and told me I had a small break. Keep your fingers crossed.

Damn sorry to hear about your high side. I purposely called it a day at 4pm cuz I knew I was done.

What bike were you on? I was on the red cbr with track fairings.

I'll know for sure on Thurs when i see the specialist. how well have you recovered from yours?

Any chance you were on either of the brakes and then let off?
100 percent was not on the rear brake, MAYBE a small amount on the front but I dont think so, i was trying to coast through 3,4,5 with only small throttle changes.

doing the same would have saved me this trouble! I'm on the 06 600RR matte black/red track fairing with lower fairing removed.

I get some irritating aches from time to time but nothing extremely painful.
Going in tomorrow to get a "real" cast put on, should be another 4 weeks.
I'll have to take it off before the 24th of August to make it for the GTAM Grand Bend day.
I was also on an 05 600RR, lol.

Great 2005 cbr 600 also.

You were rolling off the throttle when it happened, so I am guessing rear slide due to engine braking. Anytime the rear loses traction it can step out, and any time it steps out you can highside. Highsides do happen under braking (although much less often than under throttle). If I recall, there was some pretty dirty asphalt in that corner, so maybe the engine braking in combination with the low traction was enough to do it? What kind of shape was your rear tire in in the middle section?

Still, no matter what, pretty bizarre crash and definitely some bad luck. Heal quickly!

Just to be clear I'm not the OP and I didn't crash. I did have a few oh sh*t moments. The worst was the little wobble next to the concrete barrier on the front straight.
