It's amazing how some people like to avoid personal responsibility and make excuses.
"battered women syndrome" occurs over years not one time, hence the word syndrome.
What about all the women that like rough sex? He did not name those women, he kept his mouth shut instead of calling those women to the stand as his defense.

Would you want your daughter to hang out with him? Uhm, if your adult daughter wants to do that, what are you going to do about it. How many of your daughters are strippers? How many of your daughters do porn?...send sex pics... I don't hear about parents in the club trying to stop them.
How many of you reading this now do things WITH your wife/gf that...AND how many women do things with other women/men that they would not want their kids or family to know about. That's why it's called PRIVACY. And that is why you are with each other. If you can't handle grown up stuff then go be a furry or Smurf.

Try this experiment, toss a photo from 50 Shades of one of the sex scenes in the movie on the table that you would like and or you think she would like or show her 5-7 photos and let her touch the one that interests her.
Place the photo in front of her or show her on your phone and simple say while looking at her right in the eyes, and say something such as...you good with it. Whatever answer she says, you walk away and say nothing. If the word NO does not surface then you are good. If she says NO, don't ask why...just walk away unaffected and go do something, gas up the car, pretend nothing happened...DO NOT start pleading and asking why she said no...see what she says to you 3 days later.
Just a personal life observation - if you are not compatible with the person on a deep sexual level then you are building a skyscraper on sand...waste of time and future resentment and divorce on the way (* yes you can be compatible there but other major things breaks you up e.g. drugs, gambling, alcohol, finances). Women tend to settle for safety and security, men by nature are risk takers...but when women get older now life kicks in of wanting to be more risky and adventurous. Women make their own money now so they are their own safety nets which now gives them the power to...become adventurous to find a guy that...makes her feel a certain way...Feel like a woman (song). The problem most women and men do not understand is what her version of wanting to "feel like a woman"...the women that like/need that certain part of "rough" sex is for their needs that gives them something (their drug) and brings them a level of happiness relevant to THEM and no one else. That is what I think people forget.
Hence why I give Jian some credit for NOT trotting out those women that are into "rough sex" to help him defend his position to say see, some of them like it and know what they are getting into with me. Those women did not miss that fact and I bet they desire the guy even more BECAUSE he has proven at the highest level he can PROTECT them on that level...which increases his appeal. I bet you he also got more attention from new women because once again THEY saw he can be trusted with their "secret".

Don't give Jian any credit for thinking. He hired a really pricey lawyer to do all the thinking. Trotting out his past flings would have displayed a behaviour pattern for women that liked a bit of slap and tickle, the prosecutor was attempting show that pattern. No sense loading the gun for them.
