Quick update on Desjardin insurance. They will allow monthly payments for no extra fees. I finalized insurance with them today. I have no idea what they would be like on SS bikes but they might be worth a try.

I've never heard of "Desjardin Insurance" before, but seeing as how you got a great quote, I guess it's worth making the call! Any chance you can post/PM their phone number?

Thanks for the PM. I just gave them a call, and after disclosing all my personal info I found that their rates to be (unfortunately) much higher than what I would have to pay with Intact/Jevco.

On a clean record and being under 30yo, it would cost me $3570 for Liability & Comprehensive for my '07 SV650s, compared to paying ~$1800 last year for the same coverage. If I were to include Collision, it would cost me nearly double that (~$5800), so it's safe to say I'll be staying with Intact.

It is however worth noting that I also asked for rates for a 2010 Ninja 250r, and to my surprise they quoted me about $50 less than what intact was offering for the year ($1615 compared to $1670 for liability & comprehensive). That considered, they may still be worth considering if you have a lower CC motorcycle (as that seemed to make the major difference in my case).
 
Ultra, i've had luck with riders plus, under 30 for a '91 yx600 with just under 1400$ liab+comp so seems like pretty high quote on a 250, but than again, much newer bike :)

Just changed from Jevico to Td went from 899 to 650 yr .I only have a 500 but great savings .The on line quote was messed up so call them it showed 860 online but when I talk to them it went to 650
