Italian middleweight adventure bike

+1 on the Norden, but I'd opt for the off-road model based on the 890 Adventure R. Spy shots:

Lookswise, I'd still pick the 890 over the 901 though. I've ridden a 790 Adventure R, and it's probably the best of the mid-weight ADV bikes from a performance, handling and capability standpoint. Reliability though... :(

But if you're looking at Italian bikes, then reliability is probably not an important selection criteria for you.

Bit of an update, in talks with a dealer, its basically come down to the v85 or a tracer 900 gt
the lack of dealers for guzzi is makin me nervous though, I know two wheels is there, but J&R isnt showing any new inventory, and no idea how they are

I know its a simple bike without electronic complexities but still

Ducati didnt pan out, they're so busy at GP if I were to buy it, they'd have it ready for me by fall

I've driven past J&R a few times but never been in. From the outside, it is clear that they haven't invested millions in a typical glazed showroom. That could be a positive or negative depending on your perception.

If your heart's not set on Italian you could pick up a used 1190 or 1090R KTM. I have a 1090 and it's a great, versatile bike, even with the 21" front wheel. Sharp but stable handling, enough power, enough tech, GREAT suspension, comfortable riding position and +/- 400 km. range is heavenly.

of those 2 bikes, the V85TT is closer to being a trail worthy ADV
neither is any good for single track, tough going stuff

the Gooch is quite usable on gravel/logging roads
and with 19/110 front and 17/150 rear there's lots of DS tires to choose from

the Yamaha is a street bike
soft suspension, no ground clearance, top heavy
17 inch hoops on both ends and a 180 on the rear
not a lot of DS tire choice other than 90/10 stuff

get the Gooch!
then you can organize pasta meet-ups and not go

If limited my choices to Eurobikes, I'd be choosing based on what they do best -- style.

V85TT is hands down the winner, the Ducati Fasthouse would be my second choice.

Find another Ducati dealer to try the 950 out. It's good, really good. Fully capable on any dirtroad and more fun than any of the others on the tarmac. The tech in the menu's isn't gimicky either, it allows a low of setup changes and tailoring the riding modes and suspension makes a world of difference.

curious, anyone here have experience with the ol tiger 1050? (17" wheels)
