useless story but we used to carry a 60lb Bruce style boat anchor and shovel on our offroad jeep down south. Harder you pulled the deeper the anchor would set, then the shovel was to get the anchor out. Very few trees in the desert and the rocks are never where you want them to be.

years ago when i drove a tow truck , I got my 4x4 stuck, was code for bring an extra hundred feet of chain.

Buddy would always argue, why pull 200ft of chain and cable? why not back down in there a ways?? um cause I'm not the dude that's stuck......
