Issue with my bike when its stopped

Hello experts. I am mechanically challenged when it comes to issues with my bike so I thought I'd ask here. Recently I've noticed when i'm at a red light/stopped I usually have the bike in 1st gear with the clutch drawn in all the way I can feel the bike very slowly pulling me forward as if the clutch isnt pulled all the way in. I sometimes try to shift the gear from 1st to neutral but it is extremely hard to shift the lever up to neutral. If I turn the bike off its then easy to pop the gear into neutral. Is it something to do the the clutch (maybe it needs an adjustment?) Anyways any insight is much appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

What bike? Year? mileage? Last time the clutch was adjusted? Any free play at the clutch lever (eg how far can you pull it in before you hit resistance)?

Howdy,

What is the year/make/model of your bike?

Sounds like an adjustment could be needed, have you checked oil level as well?

In theory it is possible to be other problems, but 99% of the time this is a clutch cable that needs to be adjusted or replaced as others have said

Adjust the clutch cable so that it has the correct amount of freeplay. Your manual will show how to do it. Or YouTube it.

adjustment for sure, had something like this happen on my sv650, see if you’re actually pulling the clutch ALL the way in, try “over pulling” the clutch in and see if that does the trick, literally could be a extra millimeter of pull that will make it slip in, then just adjust it

Nope.
We should all buy "Made in America" harleys...
With Brembo brakes made in China
Showa forks made China or Mexico
Instruments made in Mexico....
BUT THE CABLES ARE THE BEST OUT THERE!!!!!

Welcome to 2021, where EVERY vehicle is made from the least expensive parts available. EVERY VEHICLE.
As an aside: When Honda assembled Goldwings in the US.(they don't any more), there was more American content/value in a "Made in Japan" Goldwing than in any "Made in the USA" Harley of those years. This is a FACT.

... and OP's issue is a setup issue, an adjustment, and as such has NOTHING to do with where the cable was made. Seeing how the bike is in Canada, maybe the bad "setup" is a Canadian issue.
If the cable BROKE, you might have an argument of "cheap" parts.
But the cable is intact. so you're just being a dick.

In another thread I said MY problem with Harley is their marketing strategy, which I think is an insult to thinking people.
This is what I am referring to.
Think about it.
