Is UPS messing wit me?

Awesome, thanks for link. Ideally, how many packages would you send to the address to make the ride to the border worth it? I wanna get a jet kit, but I'm pretty sure price difference between US and here is not too different, but there are little things I need too, but I swear to god ups has me shivering in a corner ready to snap like a PTSD sufferer. All I wanted was my contour gps for this weekend to go up to southwood and these guys messed up the play. UPS guy tosses package and flips bird at camera? Oh so lucky that wasn't my package, I woulda sicced my dog on him, pomeranian power!! Lol

I have used US Address Inc. They are 3 minutes from the border at the Queenston/Lewiston bridge. http://www.usaddressinc.com/

Just use USPS (or Royal Mail, etc.). I have bicycle parts coming in from worldwide weekly and 99% of the time they come straight to the door. If (and that's a big if) I get hit with duty, it means going to the CP outlet at Shopper's to get my package and pay the duty+a flat $5 brokerage fee.

I find my biggest problem with USPS is when they handy package over to cannabis post! I've had four occasions where I've paid to have Canada post come directly to my door, only to have the idiot not even come to my house, he goes straight to shoppers drug mart a drops off my package, then updates my package online as "attempted delivery, no response" even tho I've been sitting all day waiting all four times!! I know it's been four times exactly because that's how many active incident reports I've filed. And apparently because CP is soooo effin special, try arent required to refund despite not providing the service I've paid for!! I swear we cannot win!

Ya I'm a dummy, I literally saw the CBI thread a few days after my ups order went to pot! I won't be making that mistake twice. CBi's almost literally on the other side of the border, no?

Yup, less than 10 minutes from the border, and from what I've see they're cheaper than most similar places. Also, you can store your package there indefinitely (most other places limit you to a week or a month) so that you can order a bunch of stuff and go down when you have enough items to make the trip worthwhile.

I tend to like them for that reason. I don't have to sit home, and the package will be waiting for me a location that is both close to me and open late rather than fighting with a courier to get them to hold it at the depot and have to drive god knows where to pick it up.

While I agree USPS is often very cost effective, and preferred method if it must come over the border, if you buy most of your items from the US, it's still often times more cost effective to have them delivered to a warehouse in the US (as may vendors offer free shipping within the lower 48). CBI only charges me $6/package (regardless of size), it's pretty rare I can get something shipped from the US for even twice that much. Get a few items shipped and the savings add up pretty quickly (especially for bigger items), even when you factor in the cost of gas ($20 round trip in my car).

Simple answer, do not buy from US sellers that ship UPS. This is my hard and fast rule, no exceptions. I even avoid Canadian companies that use UPS as well... why support the beast.

USPS is the best choice. Even if Canada Post does not ever take it to your door the local shoppers is closer than Concord (unless you live in Concord maybe).

The other option is ship to a US address. There are services you can pay for or you can do this with fedex for FREE! Just did it myself, large box shipping to Toronto was $250, shipping to a fedex store (they call it ship to location) was $75. Popped over Monday morning early picked it up, no line-ups at the border.
