Is today the last day?

A few of us are planning a decent run today covering the escarpment and Niagara areas, probably close to 300+ kms.

I winterized my bikes following that last cold snap just over a week ago but could not resist these past temps.

What is everyone's thoughts about more days like this coming our way?

This is likely it for me. Last year this time there was snow on the ground.

Street riding is near done, still lots of off-road riding ahead.
Slower speeds equate to less wind chill and a much longer riding season.

Who can predict the weather accurately, just go with the flow. ?‍♂️ Also depends where you live.

Weather looks relatively decent this coming weekend and much of the following week. With heated gear I'm OK on nice days with low temps.

I always end a ride with a fill up of Shell non ethanol premium so I don't get caught with a half filled tank.

As above, once the roads have been salted or brined I'm done for the year.

As long as it's -10 or warmer with no forecast of snow.. I'll be enjoying it even if it's just a ride to work!

Weather forecast says: rain rain sun cloud cloud rain cloud and more cloud all plus temps, I think you are good for at least another week
and then some if you live in the great big bubble area of Toronto thermal pollution.

When they start putting the crap on the roads is when I call it.
Haven't they already started in some places, I know I rode over some streaky white dust a few times today.

Well the lake has some bearing on that thermal as well. It's still pretty warm.

They were definitely spreading something in springwater during the last snowstorm. It looked like sand but it could have been sand/salt.

That's how I got the nickname. ;)

Good point.

We did a run into Halton Region and Wellington County yesterday and noted the roads had brine applied through out. A bit slick but mostly when down shifting.

Just needed to hose down the brake calipers and bikes' underside.
