Is This Normal For All Dealers?

I tried going that route, but they need to inspect the bike to make sure that the brake pads currently on the bike fall under the recall.
Although, I wonder if you could pull the current brake pads, bring them to the dealer for verification, and then get the new ones to do the install yourself. Or do they need the VIN off the bike?....

Recalls are tracked by the VIN. Unless you have a really close relationship with the shop, they probably aren't going to give you the parts.

I get the sense that if any dealer would do it, it would be George at Corsa Meccanica. First time I dropped by to check out his store, he was offering to lend me tools.

I bought the bike in May from the same dealer, right around the time the recall was announced. I asked the sales associate I was dealing with if the brake pad recall was completed before I picked it up and he assured me it had been, as they would never sell a bike with open safety recalls. Well, that turned out to be false.
I called their service department to book a date to bring it in and they said they would call me when they had time to do it - then nothing but crickets until a few weeks ago - then this.
whew, you`re a nicer guy then i am. GM would have received a semi polite phone complaint and depending on how he received it a scathing online review from me.

Tag, I'm it. Looks like I'm in the group. Wonder if they'll just give me the new pads and save me the trip in. Guess they'd need to be sure the old pads had been binned...
They'll give you Katatonics old ones. "never raced or wheelied, lady ridden." all covered under warranty. ?

Indeed, i find it a PITA to order anything car or bike.

credit card first sir, or we don't order. now we'll check and get back to you in 48hrs if it's even available

Been trying to get a touch up pen for the X5 for a week, sheesh.

Oh, believe me, having tested the waters with Two Wheel and heard a number of less than glowing things about Vos, Corsa Meccanica is the only shop I'll be taking mine to. George was great when I was there in the fall, so long may that continue.

Either way, it'll have to wait until spring, as the Tuono is buried in the garage for the winter, and removal would be a major job with an RC51 sans forks and a shock in the way...

Katatonic = Lady Ridden...
Pretty common knowledge for anyone who is vaguely familiar with him... ;););)

oh I like this lol
popcorn

We were both smack-talking each other (friendly banter) about who was faster on the track so we decided to go to Calabogie last year, a track neither of us had been to, and see who had the best lap times at the end of the weekend - him on a KTM RC8 and me on my R6.
If memory serves me correct, we started off fairly even, but by the end of the weekend I was running about 8-9 seconds a lap quicker.
Any time he starts chirping I love bringing it up!
Oh, and a couple of years ago we were caught speeding in Tennessee and I was clocked going 2mph faster than him...so there’s that too!

Wait a minute... you're happy that I was on the brakes before you in a radar zone?!?!
Yes dear.. you were faster at Calabogie... no denials... 8-9 seconds is a bit much, but 5-6 for sure. either way, doesn't matter.. you were faster... just like your wife says!!! hahaha!!! JOKE between friends!

Either way, I'm still way prettier...

You certainly do have some purdy lips....

yeeeee hahhhhh; tuono !!

I would be more upset about the axle slider marks than the data. sounded warmed up- and a reasonable short test.

I’ve been back and forth with the dealer and they’ve finally agreed to replace my axle sliders. I’m not going to hold my breath though...I’ll believe it when I have them in hand.
If they do come through with this though, it’ll go a long way in my mind. Not enough to win me back - that ship has sailed.
They did renege on their offer to share the response from their insurance company though....
