Hi guys, remember my thread about a bike that do everything? well, I am sorry to say that I have decided on a motorcycle that is just the opposite of that.....a RC51 Sp2.....here are 2 of my choices

we've agreed 7600$deliver to Toronto (with the bike on a trailer), and leave the alarm, the FMF pipes, the K & N Filter and the power commander. I keep the original pipes + the under tail.

is it a fair price? is it a good bike?

and this one is for 8000 dollars, the guy is the 1st owner.

thanks guys.

That is one of my fav bikes ever, you suck. But ya that bike is good for one thing, and its gonna do it well . What was your last bike? Ninja 250? The RC51 is a very capable but unforgiving machine. IMO definatly not for novice riders, im asumming you got some years under your belt.

Just to give you an idea on pricing. My friend bought a 2004 Hayden edition last year for $6,500 with Hindle pipes, undertail, 30K. Another guy I know got a 2000 just a week ago, regular version, 20K for $5,000 but he went north of Toronto to get it.

I was looking at the RC with the silver frame aswell. I've been looking for the Nicky Hayden RC51 with the silver frame for a while now but it hasn't been easy. Guess you beat me to this one.

Re: Is this a good bike?

Nice bikes but IMO overpriced.

I thought about buying one but couldn't justify spending that much for a bike that age.

If you keep an eye open for a while they do come up in the 5-6 range.

Re: Is this a good bike?

Its a nice bike, but not worth 8k. I had an SP1 some years back, had great fun on it. Sold it for something like 5k if I remember right.

The thing with RC51s is that they're relatively rare, and the owners all seem to be a little delusional about the value of their bikes. I never see them go cheap, but then I always question if they're actually being sold at those high prices.

8k can get you a brand new liter bike from the states FWIW. I think 7 would be more reasonable for that RC.

boggles my mind people pay that much...

Agreed +1

+1 on the above posts. There is a really nice one in the used department at Sturgess right now. I think it's in the 5K range, lots of goodies on the bike

I purchased a mint 2000 RC51 with Ti Arata pipes, Power Commander and Corbin seat with 12K KM last November. The asking price was $6500 and I paid a lot less than that but it was also off season.

Here are a couple of other options:

I agreed prices are over inflated but because they are less common sellers seem to ask whatever they want but it will depend on how bad they need to sell as to the true selling price.

Sorry...I re-read your post and you are looking for a SP2 so the ones I posted don't count. You don't have much option for the time being as far as SP2s go but good luck.

I went to Dewildt Honda Powerhouse grand opening, they had a Nicky Hayden RC51 as a used bike, silver frame too if i remember correctly.

Markham man is a chump and a low balling piece of crap. Offering me 5K for my 06 R6 with 7000km.

I saw your post loser, so if my R6 is only worth 5K. How in the hell are you asking $4000 for your piece of **** ninja 250.

How about I offer you $500 for your ninja 250.

You said in your post to make an offer which he did. If you do not like it than laugh it off and move on. There is no need to flame the guy. When I bought my RC51 I offered $1500 below the asking price and I got the bike for slightly higher. I never know until you ask.

Trust me...you will get many more interesting offers.

hahahaha!! reelax man! if your selling something you need to be prepared for any offer! no harm is trying!
Plus in his defense, hes only about $500 off of what your bike is REALLY worth!

Also why do i find the Rc51 to be such an ugly bike!? yes it has history and all that, but its so damn fugly!
I guess to each his own, but to me its ugly!
