Yeah that was my dilemma as well but I do use Discord for other special interests (fountainpens/gaming/friend groups) which already have a presence on their own forums of sorts (Reddit) so I figured it was worth a shot.Meh do we need another piece of software to talk about the same stuff we talk about on here?
Is there any retention to the chats, like a search for meetups, how to fix something, best road etc?

I prefer to use forums because
A: I'm old
B: I can find them in a search engine
C: I feel they are better organized than Reddit or (God forbid) Facebook groups, especially for follow up posts, like technical assistance.

That all makes sense to me. To avoid drawing away useful content, it may make sense to limit the scope of discord posts. Something along the lines of rides/hookup and pms only. Not my server, not my rules though. And this is it right here, I didn't want anyone to feel alienated, or to split the community. There's a wealth of knowledge to be had here, neatly organized amongst the banter. It's why I love forums, and why I'm sad to come across a dead one (every Suzuki Marauder/Intruder forum these days).
It's only as good as we make it. The more active users on it, the livelier/more valuable it will be.i joined but don't see much value in it for me.....YRMV
