Is security recommended?

I've been driving for a couple years now and parked in really stupid places and have even left my doors unlocked but have NEVER had any cars broken into. This might be because all I drive are my parents **** cars. Now I've always been under the impression (due to my own shady past), that if someone wants something, no amount of security short of death will stop them. However, with motorcycles being tiny little vehicles, would I need security? Would it help at all or would it simply be "peace for my mind"? The place I'm going to be parked most, aside from my residential garage, is York U's Seneca and TEL building.

Theft and vandalism?

vandalism is covered under comprehensive. theft and fire are usually bundled together (specified perils I believe is the terminology).

depending on the value of your bike, you could get everything or nothing. If your bike is worth less than say $2000, I probably wouldn't get any optional insurance.

All security is going to do is slow them down. What type of security are you talking about? Putting a disc lock on or going to the full "touch my bike nerve gas is released" package?

So did you just call yourself a thief?

The sad thing is that so many bikes get stolen from school campuses, and usually by students trying to get stuff to sell for cash because they were not able to get enough OSAP.

....caused by the rampant increase in fraud.

It's a 2006 GS500F. I bought it for 3800 but declared it as 1500. I don't know how much it's really worth but I guess....no insurance? Maybe I can make a mechanism so that a punching gloves comes out on both sides for someone's crotch area if they touch the bike

Man, I don't get why people get offended so easily. Guess everyone's insecure in their own way? =(

I'd love to see half the people on here talk the **** they talk here in real life though.

I don't think anybody is getting offended--I doubt you're worth that much.

You just come off as a d-bag. Just saying... Please don't hurt me, I'll admit my inferiority--I can only do about 2 chin-ups.
