Is my bike F'ed

I had a similar problem with my SV650. The coolant would leak from one place, but it took a strange path down the cylinder head and it was difficult to source the leak.

The coolant leaks that drive me nuts are the ones that you can smell, but not see.

+1 to a non serious coolant leak guess. Last winter, my '04 GSXR 1000 had a small pool of antifreeze under the bike. I followed the leak and it was coming from a hose clamp. I ran the bike in the spring and during warm up the bike leaked a bit more before sealing itself again. The rest of the season there was no more leak, and even over this winter it's stayed sealed. I thought I'd be ordering a new hose and clamp, but haven't had to yet.

does your coolant test good to at least -30C? If the coolant froze you may have had something burst/leak.

pull the tank and take a look - plastic reservoir could be leaking from a crack.

My Zed has had a small leak over the last 2 winters to, I'm not to worried about it. Sometimes the rubber hoses harden up in the cold and small leak can appear. A pressure test is not a bad idea though.

Thanks

So I took the tank off and didn't really see any obvious leaks but the cap was a little loose...

Also, I think I'm missing a bolt... I'm pretty sure that should be grounded...

check the clamp by the rad cap and thermostat. I had a z1000 in a while ago.....that had a leak around the hose.

Found the old pictures...it was leaking by this fitting (yours does not look like its leaking here) and the hose clamp, check the bottom of this fitting...its the temp sensor for the fan trigger I believe...

The bike in the pics had less than 20K on it.

You can also see the ground to the housing, where you are missing a bolt. It should be a M6x1.00...

Nope, mine doesn't have any dried up crap near there... and thanks for the bolt size. I was going to come here and ask but I found one in my junk drawer.. Wonder what wasn't working because it wasn't grounded....
