Go to the court house and ask for the prosecutor. Meet with the prosecutor and show that youve gotten everything settled and your reason. If he doesnt toss it. Go request a trial. Mark it in the back of the ticket
 
Get the sticker online print the receipt no need to go to the MTO the receipt covers you until the sticker arrives in the mail. Why wait in line when you can do it online.

I thought you couldn't renew expired stickers online?
 
The emission test is in the MTO computer as soon as it is done nothing needs to be shown in my experience.

youre right but why would they need a hard copy whenever i go? Besides, how would you get the stickers if you were to do it online.

You can only do it online if they haven't expired yet.
 
You print the receipt and they mail you the stickers, if pulled over show the receipt no issue.

If they offer you a plea deal for something less, i would flat out reject it as you will STILL be considered guilty. At this point request a trial and hire a paralegal (if you need to). From here hope they will spoil the ticket (which is more than likely)

+1 this is pretty much spot on.
I've has something similar to this and the JP? at the first attendance just threw the ticket away without a 2nd thought.

Also I dont know why no one has mentioned this but congrats on your new baby and house.
 
If you haven't replied to the ticket already my experience with something similar is that I got a fail to produce insurance about 1.5 years ago (I had like 5 previous slips, not a current one), brought the ticket into the city's court office and selected 'meet with prosecutor' (or to that effect....not the trial option). About 3 months later I got a letter saying the charge was withdrawn.

Hi! I had this happen to me many moons ago on a Saturday(was for my car). I'd just had my Bday and was going out to celebrate with my GF at the time and then BAM! Ticket. I went with the option of going to court, just to have the ticket lowered or removed. Like most people I pleaded guilty and asked the judge to raise the cost of the ticket in order to have it removed from my record. I think I paid double roughly, not exactly sure on cost but it was gone.

I found out later you can renew the stickers online which is faster and easier. If you haven't done this, it would make life much easier for you. Once you've renewed online, you'll get your stickers in about 10 business days. During that time you carry around a print out that shows you've paid for the stickers.

Renewed mine online, they came in just a couple of days. The day after my birthday (birthday is also the last day of the month) we realized we hadn't put the sticker on the car yet.... So until they figure out a way to put the sticker on the car online....
 
Bring kid with you to hearing and look really worn and ragged... :p
