Remember JT's only job was a drama teacher. He has a BA in literature, which by most standards qualifies one to serve tables.
Is this why he can look so sombre in front of the cameras? I have stopped watching any feeds with him because I just can’t listen to his ******** any longer.

we are royally effed. I’m not putting some money into the market because I expect this whole house of cards to collapse soon and I’m wondering whether working for the govt is good or bad. I hope good as infrastructure is always up in spending when govt needs cash....let’s hope it doesn’t all collapse under the massive weight on us.

well

if you mean stimulus via debt = subsequent increase in taxation revenue
in theory
that can work

but in the real world
it has never worked

why do you doubt that JT can be the first to make it work?
ohh I have no doubt he can increase taxation

Well, on a lighter note, if **** does hit the fan financially and I need to liquidate my new home, I can always bring my fiancee back to my parents and see what kind of **** show erupts from that in a few years lol

Better than not having a back up plan? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What would you guys do in worst case situations?

I always scratch my head as to why someone like O'Tool or Singh would even want to be Prime Minister.

Can you imagine inheriting this mess and having to try and fix it. Where would you even start?

It will take decades of concerted effort to "fix" JT's stupidity. We will never get that. The best we can hope for is the next leader is less of a spoiled baby and actually thinks about tomorrow. As to why they would want that role? As always, it's money and power.

I think the base salary is only something like $175k so In the grand scheme of things its not a lot when you compare it to business leaders. You can clearly see how a lot of these people are completely drunk on power though :(

It's not the salary, it's total comp combined with graft combined with selling influence later.

Easy pension, perks and most of that 175k is in your pocket.

I think that's why these jobs are more or less setup to fail.

The way you've asked this question makes me believe you're very high on conscientiousness. Any job that requires engineering or reengineering a system means trade offs due to all metrics being a binary spectrum (aka. balancing debt versus investing in the future as a simplified example.) Any person with high levels of conscientiousness and a realistic mindset is likely looking at leading a nation as a near impossible job to do "correctly"; not only do you inherit the problems from the last PM, you have to piss somebody off with every decision you make in the future =)

I think there's a big war coming soon
US is not going to let the greenback be replaced, easily

it's gong to start over claimed territorial BS
but in reality, it's going to be an economic war

can justify stiffing a creditor on bond purchases if you're at war with them
Canada will, as usual, side with the West and go along for the ride
maybe not militarily, but financially, we will be partners in the economic spat

how it ends is anybody's guess
but sovereign debt will be up for negotiation in the treaty

I look at this way. The liberals take your money. The conservatives take your freedom. I can always get more money.

And remember: No matter who you vote for the government always gets in.

The cons take your freedom? JT spent the entire morning making it a criminal offense to possess a handgun.

$175k, does that include the "donations" from SNC Lavalin?
