Internet Provder Switch.... recommendations?

I installed Start and it is fantastic. Great speeds, no throttling, very good price. Teksavvy isn't available where I live, but with the service I get from Start they would have to give cut my bill in half to get me to switch.

If looking for DSL, stay away from MySignal - the price magically increases on your first bill then tell you "you were mistaken". Had them for 1 month, got ripped off and dumped them. Thankfully in that month Start became available. MySignal still tries to send me bills, I just file them in the deleted items folder.

Bell (and Rogers) bumped their max overage charge to $100. (used to be 20, then 30 then 50, then 60, now 100).

Their plans that have a cap (including the one you are talking about) are unlimited from 2-8am. Download schedulers work quite well with these plans :)

Good point, I forgot about that. 300 GB is probably a manageable cap for me in that case. When I left Rogers long ago they reported I used ~426 GB. Guess I'll stick with this pkg and pay the overage if it comes to that. Thanks

TekSavvy has different packages. Unlimited one (no cap) is $15 more than 300GB cap ($47+tax vs. $61+tax). Funny that difference used to be $5 just a couple of years ago.

That's actually somewhat reasonable considering the max overage fee is $25. For DSL, the unlimited package is an additional $25 so I see no reason to "upgrade" unless I actually go over the cap.
I've been debating cable vs dsl but decided I want that 10 Mbit up-pipe so I'll be cancelling with Acanac this week.
