Insurance hard to get for older bikes?

Thanks again for all the tips/info in this thread. As an update my buddy never did end up buying one, but he passed the "postie bug" onto me and I ended up grabbing a 1982 model. As most indicated in this thread liability was the only "easy" option for insurance, as anything else would require an appraisal etc. Liability only insurance ended up running me $266 for the year (so pretty much exactly what theraymondguy quoted) through TD Insurance Meloche Monnex. Do you mind me asking aprox what you paid? I'd love one of those...
 
I had my '83 CT70 insured with State Farm 2 years ago, for the princely sum of $22 a month.

There was a guy on a CT70 at bike night in Peterborough last night. Plated and presumably insured. So somebody is still writing old stuff.

I was jealous. I grew up riding the bejesus out of a CT70 - I always dreamed about actually riding it on the road some day.
