Insurance for a new young rider

Yeah man, 2 days after I got my M2 I got my bike/ insurance. Only bike, no car.

Some agents are dumb****s, so if you can't get it the first time call again.

That's very encouraging, particularly since there seems to be no reason my insurance would be higher than yours. I'd be happy with under 2k. I'll see what kind of quotes I can get in the next couple days, I'm all quoted out for today.

Get a Ninja 250, for your age and possibly size (people still haven't fully grown at 17 yo), its a good fit for you. I rode a friends Ninja before I got my gixxer, its honestly lighter and easier to ride and even more fun, especially for new riders. I kind regret getting a gixxer because I sometimes worry when I turn. For me, it was easier to trust the Ninja than my gixxer, I'm sure that will change soon since I am still a new rider. Start off small, i regret that I didnt. Besides, Ninja 250Rs arent that small anyways, pretty powerful for a little engine and can still excite you. Plus you will look better riding the Ninja because it is easier to ride, you wont look dumb when turning or moving slowly in a parking lot. There have been a few times where i had to make a U-turn on my gixxer and I had to put my foot down, i felt like a noob.

Who did you call for that quote? That's an awesome rate! My '83 GS400E is almost 3 grand a month, and I'm 22!

21, M2 for a year, no accidents or tickets... '09 Kawasaki Ninja 250 - $1400 with SF. I have nothing else with them.

I had a 89 400cc (standard bike), that was last year when i was 18y/o. $1800 liability only. So being a 250 cruiser it should be under $1000 easily.
My quote for a ninja 250 was 1300 Liability.

Got insured with state farm today: ~$1600/year, basic liability
2003 virago 250cc
21 years old, clean record, male, m1 for about a month.

Didn't even give them a follow-up call, which is stupid.

Was sort of in a rush to get insured since I thought I was picking up the bike today.

Dumb. Oh well. $1600 is doable.

No tickets or collisions in my life, and my cheapest quote on liability-only for a 250cc cruiser was a bit over $4000!

This seems crazy, the bike isn't even worth that much.

Most or the insurance premium is not to pay for the bike , it is to pay medical and rehabilitation costs after the accident which can easily run over $50,000

im 17, have a ex 650 ninja and my insurance is $3000 a yr...not bad i must say, $250 a month!
