Next time post something interesting, or funny.

If you were driving in the blocking posistion in your lane in the second one it probably wouldn't have happened :D

I see some bad driving on the part of one driver, and a whole lot of defensive riding fail on the OP's part.

The first one had the OP in the other car's blind spot. Had the OP been a bit more to the left he would have been more in the right-side mirror view of the car in the other lane.

In the second one the car was approaching the very end of the merge lane. Common courtesy would seen the OP easing up a bit to let the car in rather than forcing the car to come to a stop at the end of the merge lane.

If the rider was on the right hand side of the lane and not leaving enough room for any toronto soccer mom to squeeze in they probably wouldn't have gone in front of him?
But being in the left side of the lane and leaving a decent amount of distance in the end of an on-ramp gives the perception that you will probably let the person in.

This is nothing. If you were in your car, I would have done the same. Actually this dude, merged really, really tenderly. The gap was so big, I would have queezed you out and merged in front of you before you could say your name.

It makes sense that so many people on the forum are always bitching about "cagers". It's 100% their fault for not being able to deal with heavy city traffic...

Op, is this your first time on the road? I was expecting to see some carnage. Probably the most mundane lane change ever recorded.

First one was kinda close, but nothing really BAD...he would have done it even if you were in a car. Second one...well I would have went in there if I was in a car, was a huge gap.

i guess the fish eye lense makes everything seem wider in the video. i understand that it's the end of the lane and thus I let the guy in the honda fit in (no pun intended) If i go by the logic of turbo then I should be the one that stops and lets everyone in since everyone following that accord is near the end of their lane.

Ya I bet in person it looked WAY closer than what it appeared on the video. I'd call it good attentive driving by the OP.... nice video quality too.

+1 for recording your rides JUST IN CASE you need it for any reason.

First off, you had the right of way both times. However, the fact is, bikes are hard to see. And you have to ride more defensively. The guy in the Accord almost got you. I would already be slowing down severely when the first guy went around because you KNOW the Accord is going next..and he probably won't see you. The second one, same thing. I think you were more defensive there but the guy probably won't see you and he IS merging..people in the right lane generally have to give room to merge. So he probably thought he was clear and slowly moved over. He was at the end of the lane.

Again, I'm not saying you're wrong..you had the right of way..but this is life in the city..people can't see bikes that well and you have to suck up your pride and ride safely for yourself. In a cage, I'd be on the horn and be much more aggressive.

You pull AHEAD of the bike/car/truck and then merge, not into them. If i were in my truck and you tried to merge in front of me like that id put you right into that guard rail

Next time you should rev more when someones cutting in front of you. This way in case they do hit you atleast the bike has some potential to do some back flips down the road...

The point is, you're not in a truck..however, I respect your decision to drive into the side of the car with your bike to prove your point..
