Hold on, so this scam works by using AnyDesk to remote control the scammer's computer for the purposes of enter your personal data into a phony app? And they didn't notice this guy going off-script, traversing their filesystem, and deleting everything? I call BS.
 
OK, I take it back. These scammers are awesome. They chose a remote control tool that allows someone full access to the filesystem, completely separately from the remote control session, and without their knowledge. Unbelievable! I can't wait for the next scammer to call/email!

Fair point. The thread was started about Indians and you used "they". So I put two and two together I guess.

I was really just trying to point out that a lot have done it in the past, and will continue to do it. Where there are laws, there will be ways to get around them.

In one of the episodes the Indian scammer befriends the scam buster and tells him the police in India do nothing. Something about lashing them and they're right back at their job scamming. I don't know how true this is as they do make a living defrauding / lying.

Keep an eye on your elders, this is next level fraud.

Indian friend told me of another guy he just met at his temple who paid a lawyer 80k this time. Come here on a tourist visa, create some forged documents, forged job offer for work permit to stay, pay someone else to do the basic English test. Work under the table. Couple years later can bring entire family. Seems like a well oiled machine if you have the money.

I am sure many people from many places have "ways" to make the process easier. I am also equally sure that their are many people in Canada that either should not be here or have "extended" their stay, But, as a last point there are also millions of people that do it properly and with the best intentions in mind. If there is an "Immigration problem" it is not the people, it is the process to blame.
 
I think there is blame on both sides , people so desperate to do illegal things to get here and people willing to assist in illegal things to help them, and a system so convoluted and hard to work through that folks give up trying and go underground.

I’ve heard both sides , friends moved here 5 yrs ago from Belgium , no issues , both PHd engineers , trilingual and well employed ( sponsored by company) .
Other aquantance was a lawyer in India , both parents are here as doctors , he was driving a transport, can’t lawyer here , but now leases trucks to new Indians with no credit history. All good stories
Then there are the 6 guys in the RCMP office in Milton that spend every day chasing people down in Malton and Jane /finch area and taking them to the airport . For flights we pay for . Caribbean gangsters are a huge challenge. Some guys kicked out multiple times .
