IDLING wars....

Idiot of myself? you are quick to come up with name callings but no where close to answering any of the valid points i have raised

That's because you have raised zero valid points. And I'm not quick to name calling---you are the one who started with these dramatic comparisons and pityful attempts at verbal manipulation. Your posts look like MADD propaganda.

Your posts look like MADD propaganda. Those with a shred of intelligence will simply ignore you. You'll be left with the people who watch Fox News. By the way, I've heard they are coming to Canada. They would love to have someone like you.

Thanks! Im glad you are on top of your game!

You are aware of all the electronic equipment that's in a cop car right? You do realize if they want to turn the car off they also have to turn all of the electronic eqip off or else it could drain the battery? If they where to turn off all the electronic equip that means when they're ready to go all this equip has to be turned on again. If they receive a call while sipping they're tims surely you would expect them to be able to hop in their car and go immediately and not have to wait the 5 min to turn all they're eqip back on again..... This was the explanation givin to me by my friends brother who's a RCMP. I asked because I was curious myself.

Maybe if it had bothered you so much you should have asked the cops why they do this. Instead you ignorantly jump to conclusions and actually spent time making and editing a pointless video. Bravo your trophies in the mail.

Also remember people who enforce the law are above the law.

(I see cops on cell phones all the time...all must be work related calls)

+1 to the post above...

There's always been double standards...get over it...

****I swear Spring/Summer post are just getting as bad as the winter months post now a days...don't you people ever ride?****

It was not supposed to be a serious tread. But it got serious real quick due to certain things that were said.

I listen to the TPS and OPP police radios quite often and they do get a large number of calls on their cells from other officers and are also often requested to call citizens to provide information / advice on whatever subject

Go easy on Ty Grr he's just wanted to point something out, but the above post is a pretty good explanation as to why they do it. And if it wasn't for tygr making this thread a lot of us would never know.

And if talking on a cell is the equivalent to drunk driving (these are the words from the officers own PR campaign) then they should pull over to chat just like everyone else. I understand in emergencies but when you see officer on the phone while driving and they pull into Timmies its really hard to believe its an emergency.

I understand the need to idle in case of emergency and keeping the gear going. What I don't understand is having police sit in a V8 suburban while doing traffic enforcement.

Not the cops fault what fleet is chosen...

That's some serious smack talk against the poh-leese. Good thing you didn't get closer or they would've busted yo Ruff Rydah azz fo sho.

I didn't say it was. Well it is SOME cops fault just not the one in the vehicle.
I know, it just seems like every one wants to blame cops for every thing. Maybe people should sign up for ride alongs or something to see what these guys/girls go through in a shift. It's a tough job and every one want to rag on them all the time.

Like the op thinking it was a good idea to make this vid... not even thinking that these cops may have had a crazy shift and worked straight with out a break and just found some down time to stop and have some food and coffee before they get an other call. Cops have paid breaks which means they are on duty all the time some shifts they don't even get a break.

Who cares, they are cops. They can do what they want.

I know what cops do. I have some friends who are police officers. I hear their stories. I know what goes on.

Look there are lots of hard jobs out there. Being a police officer wouldn't even rank in the top 10. But for all the PR and FUD out there they would have us believe they are have the hardest job.

I don't hate police I consider them workers just like everyone else. They do a job. They are compensated well. I don't hold them up on a pedestal. What you see is a growing backlash towards police cracking down heavy on new laws yet they don't follow it themselves. It creates bad PR and until police get the message that they aren't above the law and they are public representatives of their profession, the backlash will get worse.

I fail to take their strive for justice seriously as long as they all support the blue wall. When police protect criminals among their ranks they are no better than criminals. I have lost faith in much of our police forces and I think the only thing to get it back for me will be to see the SIU get more civilian representation and to have actual teeth.

I concur in terms of needing a better camera... it was actually a GO-PRO but i guess they are terrible during nights.

I absolutely love my GoPro but I will admit that it is basically useless when it is dark. :(
