Ideas for heating race trailer?

this guy would know what hes taking about ^^^
im sure he has seen his share with the job he has.

I believe it, but get this. On our job site right now (New Oakville Hospital) the whole D building is completely sealed for the winter. All the heating is from open flame NG construction heaters. I don't know how many BTUH but it has to be in the millions because it's T shirt weather @ 20 below outside. That's counter intuitive.

My wife toured that site last wk, shes the paediatric manager, if you could accidentally put some windows with an outdoor view in the nursing station she'd send you a six pack of Heineken.

Married up didja?! I can accidentally do a lot of things. Openings and holes are my specialty.

Now were comparing "the WHOLE D wing of a new hospital" to a 7 x 14 enclosed trailer?

Knock yourselves out .. literally.

Hopefully you and your employer is aware that one employee can only take in so much CO per working day, and than it becomes a serious situation.

Carbon monoxide detector tells no lies, hopefully. Either you're above the threshold or you're not. Scare tactics are not helpful. Comparing the 2 spaces is valid because it's all about percentages. I apologize for my tone.

I once had a (crappy) job where I had to run a diesel truck inside a warehouse for an hour or two while I did my job.
They had a CO2 meter near where I was working that never registered a damn thing, meanwhile I had a sore throat for 2 months, and felt dizzy and nauseous for most of that time. The human resources at Iron Mountain didn't take my complaints seriously so I quit -- I should have taken the complaints to WSIB or the labour board, but I was too busy at the time and the job wasn't worth fighting for. Two days after I quit all my ailments were gone.

Anyway, to cut to the chase, I don't think that CO2 monitor was working properly and I am not sure if I would trust in such a device -- better to not take the risk by not placing yourself in a high CO2 environment, especially when sleeping and you may not notice any symptoms of CO2 poisoning.

Lol, why are you talking about carbon dioxide?
Anyway there could be 2 possibilities the CO detector is broken or there is no significant amount of CO. That irritation to your respiratory tract could be the hydrocarbons from the exhaust. Lots of stuff in a vehicle's exhaust, Nitrous oxide being one

Diesel fumes about diesel fumes at Ironic Mountain.

CO, CO2, what's an oxygen molecule between friends? ;-)

Electric blanket.

we all run generators in the cold. Get a small electric micro furnace and you're golden.
If you don't have a nice quiet inverter generator, get a long extension cord and hid the generator behind vehicles, or box it in on 3 sides with plywood

I say a small generator and an electrical blanket.

Anything with flame and in a trailer with race fuel (even fumes) is just stupid to begin with.

Maybe a medical expert can comment but I was under the impression that CO was preferably soluabale in blood. Even if you have lots of oxygen it will kill you or cause brain damage. (Too many GTAM members sleeping near gennies?)

Too lazy to look it up but from my hazy memory it has good affiny to myoglobin or hemoglobin. The protein in your blood that takes up O2. They do not release each other so the binding sites are always full & they cannot pick up O2. The cells in your body obviously suffocates.

Almost a similar principle when you use cocaine, lol. Except the receptor sites becomes available after recovery

Sent from my tablet using my paws

This is pretty silly, there are heaters that are propane designed SPECIFICALLY for small Rv's and boats. My C&C sailboat had a propane fireplace mounted on the bulkhead. There are also camping heaters that could kill you. If you spend some money on an engineered heater, your good to go, use a portable temporary heater and possibly die. Its as simple as not leaving your extension cord end in a puddle. Air intake + properly vented to the outside = no issues.
OP wants GF to be happy, no problem there, running a genny all night would suck IMHO. Electric heat is a power sucker and would kill a bank of batteries in a couple hrs. A propane heater turned on when your awake to take the chill off should be no problem, just don't turn it on night thinking you'll turn it off before you fall asleep.

lol, i could see that coming a mile away:) i guess anything's fair game to win an internet arguement......

my standard efficiency water heater is in an enclosed furnace room, the venting is open yet stack effect assures no carbon monoxide goes into space
