I purchased a used Icon Hypersport Prime Leather jacket the other week. Previous Alpinestar perf leather jackets never came with a liner...but this this REALLY breathes and is just way too chilly for anything under 20c.
Guy wore it maybe 5 times and only wanted $150 for it so I didn't care about not having the liner at time of purchase.
Does anyone know where I can purchase a just the liner for the jacket? Or does anyone on the forum have a liner for icon that they don't use? I believe all Icon jackets use the same liner as the zipper is the same.
I'd love to be able to wear it in spring and fall, but it breathes too damn much....on the other hand it will be great for summer!
 
Have you contacted Icon? I have had good luck with companies sending out replacement liners when I lost them. JR has done it for free in the past.
 
That's a great jacket, I love mine. And you stole it at that price, I paid close to 500 for mine last year.

It's definitely not a cool weather jacket. Even with the liner you'll need a thick hoodie or a few layers when the temp drops to mid teens. The liner is a vest, doesn't go into the arms.

Having said that, I was surprised at how comfortable an armoured black leather jacket can be in the summer heat. It flows almost as well as my mesh Joe Rocket jacket.

This was Icon's response to me inquiry:
Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately we do not offer the jacket liners as a replacement piece. We apologize if there is any disappointment and/or frustration caused due to this. One recommendation would be to have a tailor or alterations specialist make a new quilted liner like the original for the jacket. We’ve heard of other people having them made. Wearing a thick sweater or hoodie underneath the jacket would be another suggestion

I have a Joe Rocket textile jacket with a liner and already tried to put it in the Icon jacket. Unfortunately the zippers are backwards/does not use the same zipper size :mad:
Its ok, I will just use this as my primary summer jacket and continue with a textile jacket with hoody underneath it like I've been doing so far this season.
 
I've been using uniqlo lightweight down for colder days and it's really nice. The thing is really thin too
 
I lost the liner for my ICON CONTRA jacket a couple of years ago and just wear sweaters underneath. Didn’t realize my luggage was open. It’s probably somewhere still along the 401....
 
My black leather jacket has a vest liner, but there are stretch panels in the arms, so need an over jacket to cut the wind and then it's ok in the cooler mornings.
 
Stock quilted liner doesn't do much against the cold, tbh. I, too, wear an icon leather jacket on cold riding days (7-13 deg c) with a quilted liner. What helps is, wearing a thermal underneath my tshirt, then the jacket.
 
For me, if I can fit a sweater under a leather jacket it is too big...so that's out of the question. I finally found my Under Armor cold gear long sleeve....in my golf bag LOL! Tried that last night under a t shirt and it was much better.
I'm a huge fan of the cold gear in spring and fall and heat gear in the summer....they do wonders :)
