if anyone wants a really good icewine, go to Palatine Hills Estate winery.

their 1812 merlot cabernet is also magnificient, but not yet public (last i heard)

Thanks for your suggestions CrusinGrrl and rukus...

The Tour Operator "iyellow wine club" has not anounced the wineries yet.

We met lots of people and the best part was we did not have to drive...

Neither my gf or I are into icewine as it's too sweet but one thing we had which was quite good was an icewine-cicle from one of the niagara wineries last summer on a very hot day.
Anyone attend the Toronto gourmet food and wine show last weekend? We had dinner plans so we went mid Saturday afternoon and had a great time.

Hi Hardwrkr13 yes we did go to the Gourmet Food & Wine Expo. We had a ton of fun, drank some, ate some and mingled some. This is an annual event for us and we always take the GO train. Although I did not ask each vendor for Icewine, we did sample some exceptional wines. The hostesses from Germany were very helpful. We take pictures of the wine bottles of the wines we like for future reference when at the LCBO. We also tryed some really good food there too.
The icicles sound good. I realize not everyone is into sweet wines. Anyone tryed Chambord? It is a Black Raspberry Liquor from France....that tastes awesome.

BTW Hardwrkr13...my son and I a thinking about skydiving again next summer, maybe we can go together again?

For sure. I'm starting next year with a pilot's lesson and the gf and I are both going to go skydiving again as well. Let me know.

Both my son and I are interested in taking advantage of the Pilot's lesson deal.

If you like ice wine you seriously owe it to your taste buds and wallet to try one of the Henry of Pelham Late Harvest wines (Vidal or Riesling). They are not technically ice wines (they are picked after the first frost, not frozen) but they are better than many of the ice wines listed in this thread for less than half the price.

I have not found any other wineries' Late Harvests to be worth the time (but I have not tried them all).

Just came back from NOTL this weekend...can't wait to go back for the ice wine festival!!

For those who aren't really into ice wine, try an Ice Wine Martini making workshop, it's a ton of fun, and you have a different appreciation for the icewine afterwards.

I bought an Ambrosia from Rosewood in Beamsville, and it's not really an icewine, not as thick, or sweet..but still a nice aperitif for those who can't take the sweetness of icewine.

Seabreez, nice photos....i didn't read all the posts, but was this a group thing that you put together?
