I want clarification with insurances and tickets

I read a lot of post here and it seems like some company will increase your insurance for a ticket while others don't really care. I want to know, on the average, which tickets will increase my insurance? I'm with Jevco for my bike and The personal for my cars. I ask this (kind of) stupid question because in most province your insurance will only increase if you gain/loose demerit points.

I am mostly interested to know if insurance can increase with those two tickets that bring no demerit points:
speeding ticket with no demerit point (In Québec you can get as much as you want, your insurance will NEVER increase)
Lane filtering, usually don't bring demerit point.

BTW, 7 years, over 400 000km's done and I never got a ticket. It is only for my own knowledge.....

Demerit points mean nothing to insurance companies in Ontario other than gathering enough for a suspension.
Most insurance companies only care about 2 or more minor tickets, a major ticket, and at fault collisions.

Ok, so if I get let say, 3 speeding tickets for going 10 over on the 401 within 3 years, does-it mean I will have a crazy insurance increase? But if I get only one ticket for going 39 over the speed limit on the 401 it doesn't matter because its a minor ticket? I don't see the logic...but anyway, you answered my question.

As long as the conviction is minor they are all treated the same. For most companies, they give you the first for free (or perhaps take away a 5% or 10% conviction-free discount). After this, you can expect about a 10% increase for each minor conviction you have.
