I want a new bike

Have you ridden the Street? No reason to go with anything else. The definition of Hooligan bike.

I don't ride to my needs. I enjoy excess.

LOL. The Street R is excess to me! But I take your point.

the speed isnt as nimble as the street.

street is a great bike... (ps. pics of the two in the post a few posts up are swapped... speed has the single swingarm, street has the regular).
having owned one and ridden both, they're great, no matter which you choose.
Also, when i owned my street... it wasnt surcharged by insurance companies, the speed + everything ducati was... not sure that makes a difference to you.

KTM Duke

or SuperDuke

Sure, the KTM's don't have ABS, but they're cool bikes and super light.

Aprilia Shiver ABS

Aprilia Dorsoduro ABS (multiple engine sizes)

Aprilia Mana ABS

Your list of requirements really narrows what you can get from major manufacturers...
Aprilia, BMW, Triumph.

R1200R Classic package

Nice look but doesn't that thing have about 61 hp? I remember the 1st version was panned by critics for that low power.

Previous generations had 61 and 87 I think. This baby has 107 and same gobbles of torque!
And 2011 color - black with white stripe + classic package (spoked wheels) = pure porn!
And luggage is not an issue - BMW hard bags can be had as a package or aftermarket.

Hi,
time to get something new - but I have no idea what, too many choices at the first look, but dig deeper - and nothing.
May be somebody can advice something.

I need a new (one, two y.o) bike.
It will not be a sport bike, I need straight seating position.
It will not be a Harley - I want to try something new.
It will not be Japanese - hard to explain.
It must be good looking one, this is important :)
It should not be a heavy one, 200 kg max.
I ride a lot. It must be comfortable. Ride to work every day, out of the town weekends.
No need for a litre engine, better be better handling on city streets.
Comfortable seat for a passenger with back rest/trunk on the back.
Forgot to mention - ABS is the must.

What could it be?
Thanks!

This one ticks all the boxes.

BMW F800R w ABS.

Any of the f800 BMW bikes seem to fit the bill. Although a bunch of years back when living in Romania, I was introduced to the old duc monsters. I am still crazy about them. The newer styling however, is not my cup of tea.

These days I am a BMW boxer engine kind of fella.

Road the Tiger 800. Wasn't impressed, though every review is glowing.

The Beemer might be nice.

F800r. Not the new ones though - ugly.

Nice one, but sometimes I have a passenger, and need to be able to install trunk for my stuff.

The Diavel has a passenger seat under the plastic cowl and if you look VERY closely, you can see the passenger pegs tucked up under the subframe.

That said, I vote for the Triumph Speed Triple, or the Street Triple if you really don't want the extra grunt. I'd say SuperDuke (I'm biased) but you said it had to have ABS :(
