I snapped my CBR600 key, no replacement

I previously had the snapped key and as my luck would have it my room mate decided to clean that day and threw it away; because lord know putting it away in a safe place would have made sense :(

So l have NO key. Im hoping ta save a tow and bring in the ignition to have it unlocked/rekeyed or whatever the process is called.

Go to a different Honda dealer, they can cut the key, bring the ignition and ownership. You shouldn't even need the ignition but hell since you have it off, might as well make sure it works and they can also use that to look for the right code.

Most honda dealers were confused as what to do with it. The first response was to have the whole system changed over. Some didnt have any other options. One dealer service guy was nice enough to recommend going to a locksmith. I bought the the bike in 'Merica , so there not much any one up here would do. The only problem now is finding someone that can do the job. Im willing to drive and pay anything in reason to get the job finished. Hence me expecting to be broke for long weekend

You should have left the ignition on the bike, PM me and I will give you the contact for a locksmith that for about $100 will drive to your house...Pick your gas cap, get 5 out of the 6 ignition pins code, then manually find the last pin for the ignition...He will also very likely have a key blank for your bike in stock....

Bringing the ignition alone is possible, but having the bike with the gas tank lock to pick open makes it much easier and faster...I have had him do this for me 3 times in the past

Ah. For what it's worth, you can buy the key blanks on eBay and get them cut for much less than the dealer wants for a spare cut.

Good luck with it, I'd go with the lock smith first, before ordering in an ignition, gas tank and seat cylinder assemblies.

Not sure how true this is but the locksmith that cut my ebay blanks said they are made of quality metal and it will eventually cause damage to the cylinder. Could be true since I have noticed a decent amount of wear in a short period of time.
