I should start taking my own advice

I preach that a post ride inspection of the bike has more value than a pre-ride check in that observing a defect immediately after a ride gives you more time to fix things. I obviously didn't heed my own advice. Yesterday as I was prepping the bike I noticed a huge bulge on the front tire. New tires coming from Pete's.

Tires came yesterday, wheels off today and Rosey Toes tomorrow for install, balance and lecture on spline moly grease.

Rosey is the best. Although cheaper if you take the wheels off yourself lol

For me, this is one of those threads that makes me think "Of course, so obvious.". I hadn't heard mention of or thought about post-ride inspections before but once you mentioned it, that's what I thought. Thanks for the light-bulb moment.

I was in a similar position where a post ride inspection would have saved some sphincter clenching on Wednesdya
Went for a longer than anticipated loop with Aussie buddy and and really felt odd on the bike during the last 40 km or so especially in the construction gravel...put it down to being tired and street tires tho even on the last 15Km paved leg something was off but I thought it was me....shoulder was sore.

Was going in for service the next day anyways so did no inspection and took off the 20 km to Milton and what a nasty ride.
Of course I didn't take the fresh new TPMS with me...it's going for service .....duh.

Fought the front end over to Mototech ...hopped off and saw the rather obvious bright silver ( from the road polishing it ) roofing nail in the front tire.
Buddy and I were just chortling we'd not had tire puncture in years......

Had I found it before I left home we could have plugged it.....Adrian won't of course so new tire cost was a lesson.
