I don't think so - the instructions said it should be 90% charged, the box says 70%. Either way, it should be more than enough to get the bike going. I'll let it charge that way. The sticker on the box says May, and if everything I've read is accurate it can't be too discharged yet. Impressive packaging - I'm looking forward to customizing my battery box with foam bits.ROFL! We're just so used to heavy batteries. You're never prepared! When I first got it, I whipped out my volt meter just to check if it was a real battery! I thought for SURE they forgot to put the guts in mine.

Here's the irony - I had to push the bike along the gardiner eastbound, uphill to get over park lawn. Now I'm shaving 5 pounds off the weight, but it shouldn't happen again!
I've now picked it up and examined it 3 times. Held it for a total of about 7 or 8 minutes. Nobody else in the house seems to find it as fascinating. Tomorrow when I put them side by side they might, but I doubt it.
