I get it, you're excited to ride but...

Touched down on the infamous ramp yesterday.

...swapping to sport tires in 2 weeks! >=)

I took the infamous ramp for the first time last week, on the way back from Snow City, without knowing it was infamous. Chicken strip is much thinner on the right side than on the left now. Holy crap that was fun, and I wasn't even trying.

What ramp is this?

the ramp was probably littered with pine cones

I was reaching to grab one to throw at the person in front of me :agave:

If you guys are gonna "touch down" on ramps or attempt to scrub them chicken strips off it would probably be in your best interest to do it some place where there is no curbs, signs, fences, guard rails and oncoming traffic. Helps if you can see around the corner as well, the dvp ramps are not a good place to go down, and several guys lost their lives there.

When I first started riding for the first few seasons Id bring the bike out early, and Id end up low siding....Now I just wait, because I cant seem to ride for the conditions, so I just wait for the conditions to match my riding style...

Atleast you're honest and know better. It's kinda why I stay away from higher CC bikes, I can say to myself all I want to not use the power but when it's there....bah I use it, just not worth it.

Any idea when crews tend to salt roads? If they'll do it at all anymore?

I doubt you'll see any more. I plow/salt for the city of Barrie, and we haven't been doing much lately...

Plenty of pot holes, frost heaves, and major gaps to make your heart skip a beat. Salt isn't much of a factor but, there is a ton of sand and gravel and other crap out there.

I think for the novice that is riding out there in cooler temps and assumes they can ride anyway they want will probably still ride any way they want until they drop their ride or worse.

In any event, it was a great weekend to be out. Had a blast. Looking forward for the rain to wash some of this stuff away and the sun to break out again later in the week. Bring it on!!!
