I get it, you're excited to ride but...

Who cares, do what you want at your own risk.
A sign says speed limit 60KM/H MAX, you don't need to hit 60 MAX.
You can go 40KM/H or 100KM/H.
I rarely chime in but this is funny s..t..

This was Concession 9 just north of Oshawa on Sunday afternoon.

The corners are jammed full of sand and run off, and you have to pick your line on the straights because of it.

The advice to use caution is spot on, as well as being very visible to limit your risk.

Remember, it's still freezing temperatures overnight, so that puddle may be frozen before the sun is out to melt it.

Not to mention it's several degrees colder the further north you ride, and once the sun is down, you can expect it to get bitterly cold quickly.

That being said, I'm out and about and enjoying the spring weather.

Have fun, be safe.

Well yeah, don't go full Rossi yet, but as a means of transportation it's perfectly reasonable to ride if you take it easy (especially outside the city!!)

As for whoever said -2 in the AM is a problem, come on, heated grips exist for a reason. Once again, you're not going to carve any corners, but even just getting out on the 401 to work every morning is putting a big smile on my face :D

People who drive cars are never accustomed to seeing motorcyclists. Thats why there are accidents in October and we always hear "sorry mate, i didn't see you"

I was on that road, and with trail attack tires on an adventure bike, but a bad down shift had the rear end sliding once enough to put my heart in my throat.

Yep, I hear you. Riding it out of the garage and around the block is a thrill after that winter. :)

It was a chilly ride to work this morning.

Riding to work at 11 pm last night wasn't exactly balmy either. This morning was cold too. I'm surprised I made it with all the cars who suddenly don't see me because it's April and the roads are from frozen over hell. I can't wait until I'm noticed by drivers in July and no one crashes while riding around paradise  :D

I agree that cars will never get used to seeing us out on the road, but when it's single digit temperatures and they still have their heat on, they're even more oblivious. To each their own and we all have the freedom to do as we please, all I'm trying to say is just take it easy and ride safe.
There was no reason for my initial post to be misinterpreted.

Weird assumption.

Bikes are harder to see is all. We've all been surprised by a bike, as cagers.

Silly thread.

Any idea of what condition Lakeshore Rd out in Port Hope is in? Hoping the incoming rain storm cleans things up a bit if Sunday is supposed to be nice.

There is dirt and gravel all over the place... and that is in July.

It's not that bad all the time -- I broke my 250 in using that road back in the late spring of 2012, and road it a bunch later that summer and last year when I was bored. If you wait for perfect conditions, the bike would never leave the garage :P

With that said, if it is terrible atm (much like the picture posted of Con 9), then I think I'll hold off for a while, to say the least.

Hmmm, trying to decide if I should pick the bike up from the shop today or not... (winter storage)

Half the battle is staying warm, as most of my gear is for hot weather. dammit.
