Congrats on the new ride, Sean.
btw how long have you had the Triumph? I remember a yellow MGB?
I’ve had the Spit for two summers now. I traded the Bee for a red Beetle Vert in the fall a while back. Rational was to have a back seat for the pups.

Wife hated it, dog hated it and while everyone loved how it looked, it was a dogs breakfast to drive. Ran like a top but, was a tornado with the top down. Sold it quick and picked up the Spitfire. Runs and handles great. Needs more pep but, I don’t want to mess with it. May pick up a project GT6 and convert it to a spit6.

Still riding the CBX around the river/escarpment?

Btw, moved to Ridgeway for cheaper living and more space and most importantly a decent size garage. So far it’s been great but, haven’t lived through a winter yet. 😝

Such an awesome bike. The 80 was actually a better bike than the 100. Very smooth with smaller pistons. But the airhead had it's quirks. Charging system wasn't very reliable, and expensive to fix. Speedo drive cable bolted to the transmission with a special drilled bolt that was also the negative ground. When it vibrated out people would replace it with a plain hex head bolt and carry on. But wonder why thier trans oil looked like choc milk.(no vent for moisture). But one of the best touring bikes ever made.
You only have one life to live so, gonna try and live it well. Researched out the quirks and there seems to be enough support to manage any issues I may encounter. Appreciate your comments, makes me smile.

Nothing my cc can’t handle. 😉.

I’m a sucker for old tech and remember some riding friends that wanted one but, couldn’t afford it at the time. I didn’t understand it as I admired speed over touring. Now? Having a blast with old and slowish…….

Still contemplating a Ural for winter riding. Not going to push my luck…….yet!

I'll keep an eye out for the Spitfire next summer.
I think Ridgeway is a cool place. Sure is growing, heading east along Dominion Rd.
Enjoyed Brimstone Brewing a few times as well.

I’m off Bernard Ave on Evadere Ave a couple of blocks from the beach. Stop in a a beer anytime. The fridge is stocked and the stories will be self deprecating knee slapping funny. 🍻

Isn't that a Crystal Beach address? I know it's all been stuffed into Fort Erie, Stevensville too.
I grew up on Burleigh Rd....my dad built the house himself in the 30s with $100 in bank ...lived in it until he was 95 and walked to ambulance. Gone a few days later.

I recall eating lunch as the house was moved from the right side of the garage to where is now. Rather strange experience. Thanks for the memories

Was trolling old photos and came across a Googlemap photo with Marty's bike and others. The Shed before it was sold to Higher Ground. I just contacted Marty and said hi - indeed he is at 616k !!!!

Bernard Ave is 800 metres east of Burleigh. Both roads lead to the same beach area of Thunderbay Beach. 😉

We have our coffee/tea/adult beverage at the water from time to time.

Thunderbay Beach where all the locale residents get crammed into a 50m fenced bit of sand....my mum raged against it all her adult life.
Despite the law forbidding fencing off beaches below the high water mark.....the Yanks didn't care ....we didn't either one fun thing was to ride bicycle IN the lake all the way from Burleigh Rd to Old Fort Erie....tough going at times but no so bad for teen legs,,,was kinda neat with handlebars elbow deep underwater pedaling along.

Loads of memories from Crystal Beach Park....yummie cinnamon or butterscotch suckers. Loganberry drinks.
Crystal Beach Park
On a sunny September day in 1989, I made my final visit to Crystal Beach Amusement Park in Ontario. For 101 years the park was a summer destination for almost every Western New York child. The pictures below were taken on the last public weekend of operations (A private company day would take place the following weekend). A month later, all the rides and contents of the park were auctioned off ending yet another unique aspect of living in the Niagara Frontier. (The Comet now calls Lake George’s Great Escape Amusement Park home)
My great uncle used to walk the rollercoaster ( which was moved somewhere to the states ) every day.

Just past the coaster there was a great place to watch fireworks.

I usually would take a motorcycle ride from Knechtels in Port Dover

after a Lake Erie perch pig out ( stupid expensive now) As a kid it was easy to catch perch and lots of black bass all along the lake in the area.

Recommended nice day ride from the GTA - straight down HWY 6 then south sticking as close to the lake as possible all along the Niagara River to Niagara Falls and Queenston.
Then boogie home on the QEW
Good memories.
