Does anyone know what would happen if the following happens:

#1. You insure a motorcycle. (using Jevco)
#2. You let a buddy, not a house hold member and has no insurance, with an M2, ride it.
#3. Buddy crashes.

Following questions:

#1. Does insurance pay out?
#2. Who's quote gets murdered?

If your buddy has his own insurance, it should effect him and his company should pay out. Vehicle has to go to accident reporting center in order for the process to start.... Tough break

Yes insurance will payout if he has a valid license
Your insurance will go up as the accident will be on YOUR policy regardless if he has insurance or not. It is the vehicle that is insured, not the rider.

I believe (Not 100% fact) that he will then have an at fault accient on his record and you will have an at fault insurance claim on yours, So in the end you both get screwed.

klr has it - you insure the vehicle, not the driver.

Rider 100% responsible
You 100% liable. It's part of the liability clause on your policy

Why don't you call your insurance company and ask them?

Where do you get this info from?

The rider AND owner will both be rated if the accident is at fault.

Just to clarify a bit
Rider will be charged - points go against their licence.
You will have a not at fault claim on your insurance history.

I would assume that if you tried to get insurance elsewhere and they asked "have you made any claims in the past xx years" you would have to say yes, (Which would be classified the same as an at fault accident)
And if you make a claim through your insurance it will be going up over this.

As far as the police, HTA, MTO goes, you're right, it only affects the rider. So if the rider gets a ticket or points it does not have anything to do with the registered owner of the bike.

HOWEVER, if the rider is deemed at fault for the accident then BOTH the rider and the owner will have an at fault accident on their record. Insurance is governed by the Ontario insurance act and does not play by the same rules as the Highway Traffic Act. As stated before, when you lend your vehicle you lend your insurance. Your insurance history is affected by exactly the same margin if you were riding or not because ultimately the owner is responsible for that vehicle.

Is the fact that both go up just a cash grab? Seems like the insurance isn't taking twice the risk...

It's also like the 50% at-fault BS. I got one and my insurance didn't only "half" go up, and the other guys went up one full accident too so overall ontario insurance companies are making twice as much...that's a BS scheme.
