how to keep a passenger awake - advice needed

I've had the gf fall asleep on the back. She had her hands inside my thighs so i could hold them against the tank (this kept her from swaying to one side) and she layed on my back. She slept for about 20 mins, a quick power nap.

My daughter fell asleep on my old Beemer years ago a few times.

That's understandable. I mean, come on! Even some old Beemer riders look half dead.:) Isn't everybodys' dream to die in your sleep?

MY GF has nodded off on me, worried me a lot, only happened once, half a KM from home.

Solution: Time to get her a bike, hard to fall asleep with fun just a twist away!

They'll only fall off once, I guarantee it!

When did common sense stop prevailing?

Don't take her on the trip.

HAHA we seen a person snoring on the back of a cruiser coming back from cottage country you cant help laughing at that

This. At least find out if it's medically related or not. Maybe then something can be done to help correct the issue.

If you don't follow the advice above, this is a possibility and you don't want to go through it.

as a noob, im affraid to ride in traffic... how the heck do you veterans ride with a carcass on your back?

Key word. Afraid. Comes with time and experience. You can't be afraid. Just keep practicing and building up confidence in both you and your machine before even thinking about putting someone on the back of it.

this is crazy!! i could never imagine a passenger falling asleep on my bike

If you're going east, avoid the Trans-Canada as much as possible. Not only is it a waste of a bike trip but it is boring enough to put anybody to sleep.

cruisers are pretty much lazy boy chairs on wheels how can you not fall asleep on one lol esp now there so plush and comfy..but still haha

30 years ago, I remember my dad having some hearing aid like/type device that would sound an alarm & wake you if your head fell to the side/front/back.

Could it be different on different bikes? I can't imagine falling asleep on the back seat of a SS.

I would just get the passenger to let you know as soon as becoming sleepy so you can stop and take a break

I fell asleep riding a GSXR600 on the 401 to Kingston in the middle of the night a few years ago... woke up when i hit the grass dividing east/west lanes.
