How much does your moto gear weigh?

It's cold out, not much riding going on these days. How about a silly winter time thread?

So, how much does your moto gear weigh? I weighed myself this morning, buck naked, just before getting in the shower. Then bundled up for a short ride this morning. Back on the scale with all my crap. The difference? A whopping twenty four pounds!

Yes, this includes cold weather gear, but I'm not dressed like the Michelin man. A couple of thin layers; long underwear, a heated vest, a thin puffy jacket, winter gloves. Outwardly, other than the gloves, I look no different than I would for a summer ride in blistering heat. Perhaps the winter stuff accounts for five pounds?

The boots, jacket, and helmet make up the lion's share, of course. I'm surprised at the figure, though. I would have guessed a total of about ten or twelve pounds.

I'm always surprised at how much the gear weighs even tho does not feel like it when on.
Jacket 6 lb and that's the heavier Scott 3 season which I wore in cool weather....it is sentimental now as was son's
My go to jacket from HWK is 4lb and cooler.
Rev'it riding pants 4 lb.
Boots 3.2 lb a nice drop from the 6.5 lb the Troopers weigh.
AFX55 Helmet 3.4 lb - no light weight....still less than the C3 at 3.5 lb
Gloves ? almost nothing ..I'm likely undergloved.

When I was having the Bitubo rear shocks built for the Guzzi I checked weight of riding gear and came up with 25lbs.
This was for riding gear for cool spring weather at higher altitudes.
Armoured jacket with liner, matching riding pants, lined boots, cold weather gloves, thick socks, t-shirt,
flannel long sleeve shirt, underwear and helmet.
I weighed my luggage (4 bags) at 50 lbs.
This was a set-up for a 3 month tour of Europe that unfortunately got canceled because of COVID.

I wondered the same thing about my dirtbike gear.

Stepped on the scale, then did it again holding my entire gear bag, minus the mx boots.

Armored shirt
3 jerseys
2 pants
2 goggles
Countless thin dirtbike gloves
Helmet
Water backpack (minus water)
Tool kit
Bush saw
Small bicycle pump

27 lbs.


Even if the doubles of some gear are an extra 5lbs...

Boots are pretty hefty.

I'll go weigh them and update.

My heavily armoured ADV coat with the liner installed is over 10lbs just by itself.

If I am just cruising in the speedo and flip flops - under 1 pound
But my normal gear helmet, jacket, pants, boots, gloves - 10-12 pounds
My fat gut... don't wanna know...
