How many of you take your bike to redline?

Which, as a + for smaller bikes, is why Ninja 250s and 300s with exhaust are a hoot. You can enjoy all the noise from winding it out without going bonkers fast so quick.

There is nothing that sounds as bad as one of those things. Please, please, don't put aftermarket exhausts on those bikes...

I redline it, I pretty much have to. I can redline up to 5th gear on the highway and I'm barely going to the POSTED* speed limit..

+1

250 + yoshi = farty lawnmower

I redline my old FJ from time to time when merging on the highway. 2nd gear almost takes me up to 100.

Redline is scary as EFF!

I've never redlined my r6 yet lol. It turns Super Saiyan once it's over 9000! and once I get up to 12k I shift gears. Too scared to go any more lol

I red line my hornet quite a bit... only had my 1000 for a week or so... have not gotten there.... 2 scared.

-1 tooth on the front: It lifts in 1st and 2nd at like half throttle around 10000 rpm...do not want...

Shift when the blinky light says to ;)

Except when every R6 and R1 owner leaves the blinkie light set to engine break in levels! I couldn't count how many times "Oh, not supposed to shift my R6 at 7k?" lol. Easy to reprogram it though.

And to the OP, you're not really living until you start shifting AFTER the stock redline, then you're talkin ;)

Is there any more torque & HP after redline?
The powerband is already flat there

There isnt even power on most bikes well before redline, most bikes begin to fall off a thousand or so RPM before redline. That being said over revving is useful on the track, but Ive never found a use for it on the street. In my books its only ok to rev limmiter your bike in a coaster wheelie, Timmies 2 wheels coasters are shameful

My bike makes more HP at the factory redline (13750rpm) than the stock bike makes PEAK (11900rpm) and still makes useable power until 14250rpm (where I have the limiter set in the above video, the stock gauge lies by approx 500rpm). After 14500rpm the power drops off steeply.

You're at 14800-14900 in that pic.
I'm not even gonna hope for a logical answer, lol
