How many of you take your bike to redline?

I can only red line in 1st gear. All other gears put me in HTA 172 territory

redline in 1st gear most definitely has me breaking all speed limit laws, and in HTA172 territory on anything but a 400 series highway. By 2nd gear, I'm in 172 territory on 400 series highways too.

The tunnel under the Welland Canal is awesome for this, its really hard not to giggle exiting it.

The cops agree, and frequent the area, especially in Thorold.

And I rarely hit redline, power drops quite a few RPM before then.

An actual answer though, I shift in and around 4-6000rpm driving normally. Redline is only possible in the right time and place on a zx9.

Jesus... anything above 6,000 rpm (red is around 9500) puts me at least a good speed ticket range (25km/hr+) in the 70km/hr zone on my way to work. The joys of not owning a 250.

By law, you have to shift at redline when you're inside a tunnel.

I try to speed up and then down shift whenever in a tunnel just to scare people. lol
I don't take my bike to redline, but i've been making a habit to keep it above 5000RPM. Apparently that's when my alternator kicks in to charge the battery.

Which, as a + for smaller bikes, is why Ninja 250s and 300s with exhaust are a hoot. You can enjoy all the noise from winding it out without going bonkers fast so quick.
