How many helmets are to many?

I have 3.

I have my "flashy" one with a design, then I have a plain one that I'll take if I know I'll have to leave my helmet on my bike (like if I go to a club or something) and I have one for my gf.
 
one corsair v and one cheapie hjc i used for the riders training.

Personally id rather have one helmet I really like versus 3 i'm ok with. but that's just me
 
I have 3 main ones I use, and a few older ones I have just kept over the years. My main 2 helmets now are my Schuberth C3 Pro with built in audio system and my Arai XD3. I have a Shoei RF1100 but I keep that one now for passengers as the Schuberth has replaced it. The Schuberth is my touring helmet, I do wear it around town now and then when I want to listen to music, its a very comfortable helmet, vents really well. My favourite in town helmet though is my Arai XD3, big open area, wind flows through great, love having the beak, great sun visor. There is no one helmet that does it all perfectly unfortunately.
 
I have 3 street, 1 hjc, 1 modular with sun shield and Bluetooth, and one 1/2 helmet. 4 for the dirt. Wife has 2, kids have two each, 1 street, 1 dirt. **** me, the cash I've got wrapped up in gear! Every time I get the kids fully kitted out, they outgrow something! Next summer I gotta upgrade the dirtbikes for them, but I gotta ride my old one. :(
 
I have 12 on shelves, and just bought 3 more,LOL
 
As long as you have space to put them on display, then there is never too many

As many as can be put on a shelf.

Right now 2-3 are actively used, the rest sit on a shelf from being old/crashed/dropped/etc. But they all have a story to tell. :)
