How many helmets are to many?

Well, I have three. One I bought when I took the course in 2009 (haven't used it since then). And two full-face helmets (bought the second one because I needed something larger). I'd like get a modular helmet, but they just seem heavy, to me. Now, if you had asked how many handbags/purses I have, I couldn't tell you ;)

Helmet liners have a "Use By" date. Helmet liners also conform to your head shape after a while of use. So, having multiples will possibly mean they expire before you get good use from them or they may not conform since they get rotated. It's not like the helmet falls to bits on the use by date, but there is a risk that the helmet will not perform its job in the eventuality of an accident if the liner is too old. It's more an insurance tactic by the manufacturer.

I have two helmets but only use one of them, mainly because the visor on the other one is heavily scratched and I can't find a replacement any longer (another side effect of old helmets).

I have 4 XL helmets and 1 medium at this moment. If I see a good deal on a new helmet, I buy it. I'll usually get rid of my oldest, most beat up one at this point.

I ride a lot. I like changing it up. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. For example, one may be super light but it generates more wind noise. Another is very comfortable with best visibility but sunglasses don't fit well with it.

I have 5 helmets, (Ok 2 of those are only used on my ATV)..LOL But i have three for my bike I have two full face, which I will rotate when I wash the liner, (I ride a LOT and they get rank after a week or two). Then I also have a full faced modular which I use primarily, when riding with others and we chat at lights etc. Unfortunately, the sun shade in that one is inferior and with my glasses on everything is slightly blurred so it isn't used as often as I would like.

One to Two helmet while on the bike. I got 6 on the shelves.
I bring a beanie to switch my full face when its too hot and traffic.

I have four I use on a regular basis. My Arai full face has the best airflow, so its my summer and touring pick, my Shark full face doesn't have great airflow but its quieter and warmer for the cool weather - reduced airflow means it fogs up more - so my cheapie HJC full face that I got on clearance for $70 is my winter short distance helmet - it fits a larger so I can layer under it for warmth and its also the one I grab for shopping and errands cuz it won't break my heart if I come back to the bike and its gone and last but not least is my HJC 3/4 with light smoke visor for laid back kind of rides in the country.

I don't think there's a rule about how many is too many - unless its made by a significant other who gets tired of your motorcycle stuff taking up every inch of space in the garage :)

I have three helmets. Trying to sell one but there's no nibbles. I have Shark Evo 3 lumi, Evo 2 etec lumi, and an arai 3/4 helmet. both of my evo are new as I didn't ride this year.

I keep 2 helmets. Plain white full face cheapies. When I get the third next spring, one will be thrown away.

Fact: 3 is 2 many.

No such thing as too many if you collect vintage.

^^ Holy **** that's a tidy garage.

I have 5, 3 Sharks and two HJCs. I buy a new one when I see a ridiculous deal and get rid of the oldest. I'm looking for a smoking deal on one of the new Sharks with decent graphics. Love Shark helmets....totally comfy and the modular I have is awesome.

Have 3 one cheap one I bought for test. Then royal had Clarence in their agv's last yr super lite, plus loved the style, and got a schuberth this yr beginning of the season very quite but the best part easy to take off in theses really hot summer days.

some could say 1 is too many:D
Down in Pennsylvania last week.Riders in front of us with no lids and the Penn road sign warns motorists to buckle up.It's the law! Lol

That's because the rocks there are made from soft squishy sponge.
Another thing you out of towners do not know is when they crash/fall the roads turns into a shallow pool like the Nestea Ice Tea commercials thus breaking and cradling their fall.
