How Long Do Supersports Have in Ontario?

It's legal rape and unless some government official who rides notices and brings this to the House of Commons a lot of young Ontario guys are gonna say F it and move to a more fair province. Only question is if the pilgrimage will go east or west. Manitoba is kind of empty.

Does that mean we won't have as many hooligan group rides to "enjoy" in Ontario in the future?

The province should just tariff bikes and cars on a power-to-weight basis on sale and resale, and then charge HST on top of that tariff plus the sale price.

The tariff rate can rise exponentially with increasing power-to-weight. That would encourage more low cc bike sales.

Pack up your entire life and move to a different (and very flat/boring in the case of Manitoba) province just to save money on insurance?

Not so sure about that.

Perhaps. But it may be the straw that broke the camel's back.

Already laden with a faltering healthcare system, dysfunctional education system, out of control public sector, higher debt levels than California, corrupt and inept governance, rising electricity rates, hopelessly outdated and expensive infrastructure etc, I could see people packing up and leaving with unfair and punitive insurance rates added to the mix.

Haven't you heard? Everything's perfect in Manitoba. MLadin would find nothing to complain about there.

Manitoba could give out free ducati's to residents and I still wouldnt move there.

If there's a pilgrimage out of Ontario to any province East or West of us due to insurance costs, Ontario loses and those provinces gain due to braindrain. Our government isn't smart enough to get ahead of consequences. Don't let kids have any legal fun, they end up with diabetes at four years old weighing 150 lbs... like Americans. Altho Manitoba was an example of any province but here, it's the people that make up anywhere. It could become a good place if they attracted Ontarians with low insurance rates and cost of living. Vancouver Island might be a choice as there's no snow and it's double digit temps make it tempting for any Canadian rider. All year riding if you like maritime weather and don't mind rain. Eastern Canada has nothing I'm interested in...just more politics and more cold.

I would say talk her into a sport touring like the FZR6 but I've heard one guy has been getting told by insurance companies that they are now considering his FZ1 a super sport class. Join "Riders for better rates Ontario" on facebook and talk to one of the brokers or agents for a cheaper deal. There is not much we can do when the insurance companies fund Kathleen Wynne so heavily.
