How high-milage is YOUR bike?

Stopped into Mackies today to chat with a pal that works there. Started talking to another one of the guys and he rides an '06 Electra Glide (I think?) and he just rolled over to 256,000km on it. 256!!! It absolutely blew me away, he's been to ever state and province in continental N.A.

It opened my eyes to what you can do on a bike, he said he's on his 3rd set of pistons and rings and second transmission. Something like 6 sets of rear shocks and 33 sets of tires. We were talking about how what's needed is the right bike for your intended use.

I try and do 600 to 800km days on my days off, but I never thought that bikes could pile on that many clicks! Anyways, what kind of milage do you guys have? How many KM do you put on during a typical day-long ride? How do you stay comfortable and alert?

My 2000 sv650 made it to 130,000km. I wasn't monitoring the oil window as well as I should and I had to replace the engine in it, but it was still going strong.

My 1997 CBR 1100 has 90,000 km on it. It's an incredible machine.

Staying comfortable and alert involves lots of water throughout the day, with occasional stops for stretching and to regain focus and sometimes a quick 10 min nap.

83k and still running strong.

WobblyCat has a CBR with 148k on it.

just cracked 2000 km on the cbr...
i owe it all to clean living, setting high goals and maintaining a lazer like focus on those goals

That's good to know at 40% more horsepower than the sportster it's based on and 25% less oil capacity.

The C70 I'm riding had 15585 on it when I got it a month ago or so, maybe a month and a half. I've put close to 2000km on it already so far.

My R1 is around 22xxx km..

not even broken in at 8100km... :)

167k on my 03 SV. Just oil changes. Valves needed adjustment at 77k.
Any other major service to it? I'll be rollin over to 40k this year, valves checked last year and they were fine. Regular oil changes seem to be only thing it needs.

My '97 ST1100 just rolled over 161,000 yesterday. No Major issues, just normal maintenance and many sets of tires.

'08 KLR is at 65,000km and still going strong.

Last bike was a 2000 Katana that had 67,000km (all but 12,000km was mine) when I sold it.

68,700 on my gixxer750

Fresh plugs, frequent oil changes with filter and keeping the air moving seem to do the trick.
