How do you remove crush washers efficiently?

In 20 years I've never had a crush washer get stuck.

Are you using the Suzuki steel type crush washers? As those are the only type that get stuck on the bolt in my experience ...If your experience is only with plain type flat crush washers then those never get stuck, its really only the Suzuki ones I have this issue with

This is true, Suzuki washers clamp onto the bolt quite firmly once crushed.

Are those the ones like spark plug washers? The ones that are seemingly made of sheet metal folded? If so the service manual specifies using a cutter, something looking like a pliers but sharp edges

Yep, good old Suzuki's nuisance washers. Had to remove four of them (three different sizes) from the Burg's drain bolts when I did the first oil change. Went with aluminum/copper after that. Easy to anneal and reuse if you really want.
