How do riders wave in England?

30yrs riding in the UK - It's either a high left hand wave - nod of the head or a flash of the lights. When I started riding here, I was forever slowing down each time someone waved - in the UK if you get a low hand it means slow down, the Old Bill have a speed trap up ahead.

I think the waving is a N. American thing, and not done world wide. I could be wrong, but I don't think they wave in the UK or the rest of Europe.

correct. Very Nth American. At most, you may get a nod from a rider when riding outside of the city, otherwise forget it.
