how do I down shift properly

I live in Erin Mills and can help you properly downshift. Message me if you are interested and we can take it from there.

Also the earlier comments about not riding with license/insurance are key. I know someone who took both of those charges many years ago and it haunted him for many years due to the cost of future insurance - not to mention the $5k fine he received.
I can meet you ! When are you free

I know the urge all too well...
Bought my bike in July 2020. M2 Course was booked for late October.

I hear stories on RFD and other forums all the time - "got caught driving around my neighbourhood with no plates/insurance". Scared me enough to know it's not worth the risk.

Best solution is to rent a U-Haul trailer for $15, get a buddy with a vehicle that has a hitch, load the bike up, head to a empty parking lot (there were SO many last year) and spend half the day practicing. You can do it every other weekend, once a month, once in a while, etc until you're able to take your safety course. You pay $15 each time to rent a trailer but it sure beats getting caught riding with no plates/insurance.

Note: There are probably people that will not like my advice and believe you shouldn't get on a motorcycle until you've taken the course.
You seem to know the risks involved and have been out riding. Just make sure you're wearing gear.
