House music lovers!

Couldn't go at the last minute. 2 folks I was headed down with bailed and then I decided to help the gf with her thesis instead of go it alone.
next time...

amazing party!!!!!!!!! got home @ 10:30am if that's any indication:lol:

well next week on the 20th hodges will be spinning again @ wrongbar along with the goofs n mike gleeson. i heard wrongbar has the exact soundsystem that chicago's famous Smartbar uses, so looking forward to hearing some bumpin beats through that!

but if that's not enough notice i highly suggest this;

I've heard of wrongbar but never been do you know what prices are like there and what age group the crowd is?

if you're talking drink prices, i have no idea:confused: admission will be $10-20 range...

as for the crowd, on a regular night i hear it's a pretty young, more techy house kind of crowd, but that doesn't really matter cause they just "pose up" by the bar lol

hodges' jams usually attract an older, mature, friendly crowd....everyones usually close to or just over 30ish....mostly "old schoolers"

btw your link didn't work:confused:

sweet, thx for the link. Just started listening to it now - nice to have a change of tunes while I'm doing homework. Sounds like good dancefloor stuff so far...

Last weekend a bunch of friends and I checked out the Osunlade party at The Great Hall on Queen West. Was good times and also got to listen to Kenny Glasgow play some proper music for a few hrs...

damn, i haven't seen Kenny spin in years....actually one of the best Kenny performances i've witnessed was in Kitchener(of all places lol) @ Metropolis, there was only maybe 15 ppl there but Kenny destroyed it!

well he'll be at it again so i definelty have to try to make it to this party, it's the same location as the Sonny party, a sick venue for these types of parties!

April 10 Zero Percent Presents: Volume 1 - Kenny Glasgow, Jamie Kidd, Pauze

this also caught my attention, but not totally sure if this type of talent will be appreciated at this venue:confused:

April 13 - INDUSTRY LEGENDS w/ DJ HEATHER @ Century Room - Street Level Tuesdays!

posted this earlier, not goin to miss this for the world!

April 17 Footwork presents DERRICK CARTER (Classic Music Company - Chicago)

and the following wknd i will def be here....then taking a party break for a while lol

April 24 Locol Productions pres. MC FLIPSIDE,JASON HODGES,LOOPITY GOOFS,CHRIS VENCH

Didn't realize there were so many house heads in here.

I used to DJ house too. Played in the former VIP room at System Soundbar for almost 5 years...Until they shut down, and I decided to do weddings.

Since then I've been really out of touch with the underground dance scene, but really in touch with the crappy teeny bopper top 40's scene. Anyone heard Ke$ha's new single? :D

Seems like there's enough DJ's in here to get our own night going...As long as someone is willing to put it together. I'd play for free if it meant I didn't have to take requests from 12 year olds.

I would be down for any event with some good old school house. There are a surprising number of good events popping up in toronto lately. I was really bummed about missing Fodera.

We could all just kick it at someone's basement with you guys rotating sets :D

I don't spin anymore/sold my equipment, so I'll just be there for the head boppin' :(

+1000000 a strictly old school jam would be sick!!!

yea 2 bad you missed Fodera, it was an amazing party, especailly cause it was his 1st ever appearance in Canada. Sonny was really feelin the vibe here and said it "was the best party i've been to in like a year"....so he'll be back forsure:cool:

don't sleep on Carter or else you'll just read about how sick it was from me on here:p

I hope I don't get flamed by you House guys for this, but anyone here of any good Dubstep/DnB jams 'round Toronto coming up? I'm not exactly in the know anymore since the connects that I had to those scenes have since moved on.

I do an annual oldschool jam every boxing day at Footwork. last year I had Chris Sheppard, Tim Patrick, Method Men (kenny & Mario) and John E. always a crazy night and slammed.

I'm playing an old school all Vinyl night at Andy Poolhall on the 23rd of May. Not all all house though.. House, Breaks, Tech.. maybe even some classic hip hop jams

you just missed a crazy jam last on the 27th at the Koolhaus. Andy C, Ed Ruch and Optical and a few other guys. They did like 2500 people. it was pretty nutso.

I have a decent collection of old school house, and deep house. Someone should do it up! Not me though...I don't want to deal with that now lol.

Milk and R N B parties often have a lot of classic house, mixed with deep house.

Check out some Milk / R & B parties this summer at Sunnyside Pavillion. Awesome outdoor venue.

Absolutely. But someone should organize a social event first so sitting in someone's basement getting drunk and (possibly) getting high isn't so awkward.

Thanks man. I'll listen to it when I get a chance... I know lots of Hodges stuff and have a bunch of his remixes and other productions... and played at some parties along side him a very long time ago when I used to play out. He's always a solid technician. I really liked the first 2/3rd's of that Fodera set. I want to know the name of the tune at the 100 minute mark. Great tune. Impeccable actually.

If you like local talent - this set I did a long time ago is all Nick Holder productions with some other Canadian talent. House In The City - this is a streaming audio file but it can be downloaded off my site.
